Beautiful experience to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday. Everyone was so kind and took great care of us. Carolina and Julia were amazing. Everything is so clean, the food is fresh and yummy, the views are amazing. Thank you to everyone who made this special.

All we can say is wow! We knew that this would be luxury but LADE was beyond our expectations. It was private, personal, and truly one of a kind. We spend 7 nights at Los Altos De Eros for our honeymoon and had the most amazing time. The staff was so incredible. They were personable, kind, and cared so much for us and our experience. We chose to spend most of our time at the resort, instead of in town for so many reasons. 1st off - the view and the location. You are able to look out into the distance of jungle and still see the ocean. It’s some of the most gorgeous views we’ve ever had from a hotel room. And the sunsets were beyond! 2nd, the vibe!!!! LEAD has some of the best food and experiences at their property. The hotel only has 6 rooms, so everything is PERSONAL. They want to cater to you and your needs! They set us up in the most amazing room, with accommodations such as; amazing food made daily from scratch, breakfast in bed (everyday had something new and delicious), the cleanest and most gorgeous pool we’ve ever swam in. 3rd- THE SPA!!! The spa is the most phenomenal and LUX experience you could have in Tamarindo. We went 2 days in a row. An all around amazing experience, extremely romantic, personal, safe, fun, and beautiful. We want to mention how phenomenal the staff were as well - Enrique, the resort manager took care of us like family. Drove us around Tamarindo, gave us recommendations on food and places to enjoy. Ari and Caro, at the front of house were friendly and so incredibly accommodating. The chef, spa, and housekeeping took the experience to the next level. We will be back!

This hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. The staff is very friendly, and go out of your way to make sure you have what you need, and feel right at home. The food is magnificent, and healthy!! I loved working out in the open air gym every morning, overlooking the mountain side all the way to the pacific ocean. Thank all of the staff for the hospitality, and trip of a lifetime.

This review is long overdue, but it has taken me several months to fully process just how life-changing my stay at LADE was.

We rented out the entire villa for 4 nights in January 2025 to host our wedding with our closest family and friends. YES — the food, the staff, the rooms, the spa, the cleanliness — everything was truly five stars and beyond. It was, without a doubt, the nicest place I have ever stayed.

But the real reason our wedding felt so magical is because of one person: Julia, the owner.

I spent months searching for the perfect destination wedding venue, but the moment I met Julia, I knew this was it. The saying "when you know, you know" doesn't just apply to love!

Starting almost a year before our wedding, Julia essentially became our wedding planner. She helped us with every vendor — the cake, DJ, photography, hair and makeup, florals, rentals — you name it. She handled every detail with intention, precision, and warmth. She made it a true "turn-key" wedding. Before I even had a chance to worry, Julia had a solution, and was always a text away on WhatsApp.

She didn’t just help with the wedding day — she also coordinated our rehearsal dinner at a local beachside restaurant. She helped us find the venue, communicated with the restaurant, and arranged transportation for all our guests. Her care and attention extended far beyond what we could have imagined.

The wedding day itself felt like a dream. The ceremony space overlooked a breathtaking view, surrounded by lush tropical flowers. Every detail was beautifully set up, creating an intimate and emotional atmosphere that supported our small guest list and made everything feel centered around love and connection. Not one thing went wrong. Truly — not one.

But what really sets Julia apart is her presence. Throughout the weekend, she wasn’t just "on duty" because she owns the villa — she was present because she genuinely cared. She helped me put together welcome bags on the first night (even helping gather supplies from town). She sat with me during my hair and makeup trial, just to chat. And she was even included in a few photos from the night — because it felt natural. She had become a meaningful part of our celebration.

I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. Every single guest commented on how amazing she was — attentive, calm, warm, and truly invested in our celebration.

I also have to shout out the kitchen staff — every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. They handled multiple dietary restrictions with ease and even prepared a traditional Romanian dessert for our wedding night, which meant so much to us.

If you are thinking about staying at LADE — for a wedding, vacation, or any special event — just know that you will be in the best of hands. We will cherish this experience forever.

I did not like the forced family eating forcing us to mingle with all the tourists and eat all at one table

I was a huge client of this spa for 10 years before it sold to the new owners the Brazilians...they turned it into a family eating place where they make you all sit at one big table

Huge turn off last thing I want to do after a relaxing spa day is to talk to tourist...They used to have private tables where you could sit alone or with your friend or boyfriend and you could help yourself to an all you can eat buffet. The new owners ruined it by removing private dining and forcing everyone to sit at one big ugly table where you have to face a bunch of people you rather would NOT talk to. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE...very Latino really. The old owners were from the USA and England and were more classy. I miss the old spa it used to be so nice. I was sad.

Please bring back the all you can eat buffet with private dining options. If a big family wants to sit at the big ugly table that's fine but I do not want to! I want peace and no small boring talk to tourists.

Please let me know if you ever bring back the old way it was done. I havent been since 2019. I took my mom Paid $400 something bucks for the day and was VERY DISAPPOINTING with the dining. FOOD Sucked also. Lost the quality. Felt like another tourist crammed into a table with some pasta. Very low class not a $400 a day feeling at all.

The spa has downgraded and the servants rush you. Not relaxed at all...Obviously the new owners like the idea of sitting around the table with a bunch of tourists to eat. That is not my style and certainly NOT after paying for a relaxing spa day. I guess thats how the Brazilians are they always want to be around others cannot stand to be alone.

I am from USA so its not my style since the new owner added the family eating option only.

Loved, loved, loved! Amazing fresh food, beautiful boutique hotel, courteous staff, impecable service, relaxing spa, super nice owners etc….cant wait to be back! Perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from the city caos. Planning to return next year!

This was our second time staying at LADE in the beautiful mountains of Costa Rica. This place is an absolute gem and is made even more special by the kind and attentive staff who at this point feel like family. Chef Javier’s dishes are incredibly creative and delicious. The rooms (we’ve stayed in a poolside room and the Eros suite) are clean and comfortable. It is easy to get to multiple beaches you can see from the resort, and Playa Avellanas was a highlight for sure. The small size of this hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay and the communal dinners (optional) are so fun as you get to know the other travelers. There are monkeys in the trees right on the property. We also love the yoga shala and other outdoor spaces. If you’re considering staying here, you should book it! This will be so much more of a quality experience than at a big resort.

We celebrated our 23rd anniversary at LADE—amazing staff, stunning views, top-notch spa, and great food. The Eros Suite is a must. Unforgettable experience—highly recommend! Ari, Josue, Javy, Cexni and the rest of the staff are amazing.

This was mine and my nieces first time in Costa Rica, my first yoga retreat, and all I can say, is the accommodations amazing! From the comfy bed to the sunset views and the amazing food highly recommend

Los Altos is an amazing resort in the mountains but still a short trip to the beach. The staff are the best out there and treated us as if we were the only guests at the hotel. The food is superb and because the hotel is small it was akin to having our own personal chef preparing just what we enjoyed. The owners joined us at breakfast treating us more like guests in their own private home rather than clients at their business. The spa treatments were so popular that lots of day patrons came for the spa but everything is so well designed you still feel like you are the only one there. If you want peace ,sunsets that leave you breathless, a staff that treats you like royalty, and food that is prepared just for you, make your reservations now.

This is one of those hotels that you almost don't want to talk about for fear of it becoming too popular. The owners are very friendly and it feels like being a guest in a private home with staff to take care of everything for you.

We recently came back from an unbelievable four-night stay at a hotel that felt like a hidden gem! Everything was simply perfect. We enjoyed watching monkeys play in the trees, experienced the best spa services I've ever encountered, and the pool to be absolutely gorgeous. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making our visit even more memorable. The food that they prepared on property was so good. This place truly holds a special charm!

Just WOW ! I went to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and LADE for the first time from 2/19-2/24/2025.
The resort was incredible I have seen pictures of it on seedandrootedretreats.com and the pictures do not do it justice. Upon walking in the huge front doors your senses are immediately awakened. The food that Jarviah the chef prepared was outstanding. The view of the jungle , mountains and straight to the ocean was awe inspiring. Spa was such an elevated experience. I will definitely be back. The owners ,managers and all staff members very made me feel special and pampered. My room was amazing. Thanks Toni from seedandrooted for making this happen for all of us.

Excellent small (6 rooms) Boutique hotel, clean as can be. Incredible food, highly recommend the spa. Great howler monkey watching and we loved our big iguana friend sunning by the pool with us. Staff very accommodating. Comfy beds, A/C works well in rooms. Common space is open air but the mountain breeze and ceiling fans keep it cool. Yoga shala is lovely, open air, and they have straps and blocks. The net is amazing for star gazing. Would surely go again!

This place will forever hold a special place in my heart! The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The views are unmatched and the other guests were so lovely. We cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Costa Rica and we were blown away with our stay at Los Altos De Eros! Everything from the room to the service to the food to the spa was exceptional. We also booked yoga classes in the yoga shala which were great and all the people were very helpful and so great in accommodating all of our needs. The Eros suite was very clean with a stunning view of sunset and we absolutely plan on coming back and bringing some friends along as well. The Romantic spa dinner is an absolute must!

This hotel and spa is really lovely. The staff are very friendly and work diligently to make sure everyone is comfortable. The food is delicious and my wife told me the spa was phenomenal. Highly recommended. We stayed in the Casa Bella and that was super peaceful. You can hear the wildlife from your room and enjoy the incredible sounds.

LADE delivered a fantastic anniversary week. The daily breakfast is outstanding, and they can adjust the timing a bit if you are leaving on early adventures. We had dinner on property a few nights to rave reviews.
Renting a car was great for us--we had activities planned and wanted the freedom of movement.
We did the couples spa and dinner combo--WOW! Super romantic and fun.
The staff is very helpful and offer personal care.

A lovely Costa Rican bed and breakfast style hotel. 5-star property for Costa Rica standards, 4-star property by traditional standards. The staff is amazing. The food is excellent. Expect a very relaxing bed and breakfast type hotel where you are made to feel like family. The food is fantastic.

Room was excellent and clean ,pool area had a great view of the hills and forest,. Staff was laud at front and kitchen,so it was hard to take afternoon naps.
Restaurant closed at 8 pm and all the staff left.
Breakfast was cheaply presented and not similar to other high end hotels
