La Quinta Menorca by PortBlue Boutique - Adults Only

We spent 5 nights here for our wedding anniversary in July which is why we chose an adults only hotel.
The hotel has huge potential, excellent location and lovely staff ( special thanks to Aylen on reception who was so helpful and always had a lovely smile, she is a credit to the hotel) .
The rooms are arranged around the lovely pool which is very pleasant.

Sadly this hotel has 2 of my pet hates and should not occur in a ‘5* luxury ‘ hotel ( I would say a good 4*). The 8am towel dash for sunbeds (I am on holiday and want to relax) and anti-theft hangers in wardrobes.
Fortunately we had booked a junior suite so had our own sunbeds so did not have to get up early!!!

The room was a good size with a bedroom and lounge. Strangely although the bathroom was next to the bedroom you had to walk out of the bedroom and through the lounge to get to it at night.

There are no charging points and no spare sockets in bedroom to charge phones etc. There are a couple in the lounge at floor level.
The decor is very old fashioned. There are 3 wardrobes, not necessary, would be better to get rid of one and have a drawer unit for T shirts etc.
Bathroom decent size, shower just a standard shower on wall that can be removed but decent pressure.
On the plus side nice big bath towels.
Safe at a sensible level in wardrobe.
Fridge efficient.
You have a kettle but the tea/ coffee tray was what you would expect in a premier inn. Teabags not even in a sachet so stale and cheap instant coffee. See photo. Normally ‘ 5* luxury hotels have coffee machines, especially if in a suite.
On arrival you have a bottle of water in your room but that is it. It is not replenished. Luckily there is a supermarket next door. I cannot remember the last time we stayed in a 5* hotel and were not provided with water daily!
The biggest problem was the air conditioning which is not fit for purpose. We wondered why there were only sheets on the beds and no duvet, we soon realised. The system is old and very poor. The dial is set on 10c and fan on full. See photo . The lounge area was too warm to sit in, luckily the bedroom was slightly cooler if we kept doors shut but still struggled at times to sleep. The system needs completely replacing.

Breakfast was mediocre and the dining room needs modernising.. several times we didn’t bother with breakfast as so unappetising.

There is a courtesy bus to Ciutadella daily which we used. You just need to book in advance as only 8 seats.

I would recommend a junior suite on the ground floor, as you have your own sunbeds and it is easy to be in the shade or sun depending on your preference.

As I said this hotel has huge potential. If it was modernised with efficient air conditioning we would happily return.

Pleasant quadrangle hotel around a lovely pool overlooked by patio tables for restaurant and bar. Some distance from the beach, 5 minutes walk to the harbour. Dinner food was disappointing: started was just a boring salad buffet and mains sounded better than they were. Service was variable.

Lovely hotel let down by the lack of good air conditioning and management not understanding guests needs.

Grosszügiges Zimmer, Sauberkeit ist sehr gut. Die Klimaanlage ist leise. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, ruhiges Ambiente, da Adult-only. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und von guter Qualität. Auf Anfrage gibt es glutenfreie Optionen. Die Lage des Hotels ist super, man erreicht alles was man braucht in wenigen Gehminuten. Gute Busverbindung nach Ciutadella.

Camere spaziose e pulite, letti queen size molto comodi, il bagno con distributori di docciaschiuma, balsamo e crema corpo, asciugacapelli. Servizi igienici separati (c'è anche il bidet), aria condizionata, ampie armadiature e cassettiera, bergere e scrittoio. La piscina è fantastica, forniscono i teli ed è un luogo molto silenzioso e rilassante, si sente il profumo di oli essenziali della SPA: è eccezionale godersi un bagno dopo la spiaggia. Colazione abbondante a buffet e menu. Il bar molto bello, elegante, con pianoforte a coda e ottimamente fornito. Il tempo era poco e non ho potuto godere di palestra e SPA.

Fabulous hotel with a few niggles. Only things that have already been said, air con in the rooms is pretty inneficient, bathrooms very outdated and really need some walk in showers especially for the majority of guests and breakfast was a bit chaotic at times.
Overall it is a great hotel with great staff but wouldn't return until the bathroom situation is resolved.

Just returned from a lovey week at this hotel. Fabulous pool area and no sunbed wars, lovely quiet pool area.
Breakfast was great. We had lunch a few times as well (also delicious)
Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and spotlessly clean rooms.
The only negative is that the air conditioning was not that effective for the very high temperatures during our stay, also there were no teaspoons in the room to make tea/coffee.
Otherwise all great and we will be back.

Excellent hotel. Wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We’ll be coming back next year. Lots of returning people.

The pool is great, the spot is perfect since it's 10 min walk from 2 really good beachs and the staff are amazing! First time in menorca and I totally recomend this hotel.

Returning guests. Still love this hotel. A bit of updating needed but we enjoy the laid back and quietness of This place. Thanks to lovely manager Eva for our favourite room area .

Spotlessly clean throughout & relaxing atmosphere. Staff friendly & he Bathroom could do with update - a walk in shower would be preferable. Found air conditioning in bedroom not very effective. Meals were a mixture of buffet & waiter service. Good cold choice at buffet but repetitive. Little veg served with mains in evening though you could get extra salad from buffet. Pool area quiet & relaxing lovely to have no music all the time. Towards end of stay people started leaving towels on sunbeds & these were not removed. Felt hotel not up to 5☆ more 4+, but enjoyed my stay.

10 days at this lovely hotel. The situation is very good close to shops, bars and restaurants. We were in a junior suite whjch was large, beautifully decorated with a spa bath and a separate shower cubicle. Had its own terrace with sunbeds looking over the pool. Bed linen, towels etc of the highest quality. The whole hotel is immaculate, spotlessly clean with lovely welcoming staff. Food was good. We had half board and there is a large choice at both breakfast and dinner. Service was occasionally slightly haphazard but not a problem. A great place to come and relax
