Excellent. Charming. A treat.
Pros:

Lovely old building, with charming antique furniture. Comfortable and good facilities. We had room 12 which was a magnificent room. A real treat. Manager and staff very helpful and friendly. Plentiful breakfast. Great central location.

Wie am Hof von Heinrich dem VIII.
Pros:

Der Service war aufmerksam, das Zimmer war einzigartig. Man fühlt sich in ein anderes Jahrhundert zurückversetzt, trotzdem ist alles da, was man braucht. Lage zentral.

Cons:

Das Badezimmer war im Vergleich zum Rest des Zimmers recht einfach, aber trotzdem sauber und gut ausgestattet.

Alles richtig gemacht.
Pros:

Perfekte Lage. Wer den Charme der Vergangenheit liebt und trotzdem in der Gegenwart lebt ist hier richtig. Ein Ort zum Denken und Schreiben.

Pros:

Very kind people. The location was great if a little noisy but you expect that in city centre. The building itself was seriously cool. You really fdel the history of the place and the owners have done a great job with all the antiques everywhere pulling this theme all the way through to a suit of armour in the breakfast room.

Cons:

The place needed a bit of love. Most obvious was the bathroom where the grouting does really need replacing. I was looking forward to having a bath but did not do this because the grouting looked black and cracked.

Nous avons passé un excellent week-end dans cet hôtel de charme, véritable maison historique qui semble avoir traversé les siècles. Magnifiquement conservé, l’établissement a su préserver toute l’atmosphère et l’élégance d’une autre époque, avec un mobilier, des tableaux et une décoration qui donnent beaucoup de caractère aux lieux.

Notre chambre était immense, avec un magnifique lit à baldaquin, très confortable, et offrait une superbe vue sur un jardin intérieur parfaitement entretenu. La salle de bain était également spacieuse et disposait de toutes les commodités nécessaires. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le calme de la chambre, très agréable après une journée de découverte de Gand.

L’emplacement est idéal, en plein cœur de la ville : les canaux, les principaux sites touristiques et les charmantes rues du centre sont accessibles en quelques minutes à pied.

Le petit-déjeuner, servi dans une magnifique salle historique, ajoute encore au charme de l’expérience. Tout est réuni pour se sentir véritablement plongé dans l’histoire de Gand.

Enfin, nous tenons à souligner tout particulièrement la gentillesse et l’accueil de la dame à la réception. D’une grande disponibilité, souriante et attentionnée, elle nous a offert un accueil exceptionnel, d’une qualité que l’on rencontre malheureusement de moins en moins dans les hôtels aujourd’hui.

Une très belle adresse, pleine de charme et d’authenticité, que nous recommandons chaleureusement à tous ceux qui souhaitent découvrir Gand dans un cadre élégant, paisible et chargé d’histoire. Nous y retournerions avec grand plaisir !

Das alte Gebäude hat Charme, die Lage ist sehr gut und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Ausstattung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Leider hatten wir ein sehr dunkles Zimmer, fast ohne Tageslicht.

Charming stay in the centre of Ghent
Pros:

The hotel is located in the centre of Ghent, with all the main landmarks within easy walking distance. The owners were very kind and welcoming, and I really appreciated the helpful guide and map they provided. They also kindly allowed me to store my bags after checkout, which was very convenient.

Cons:

The room was on the third floor and there is no elevator, which the owners had already informed me about before my stay. Because of this, the property may not be suitable for guests with accessibility needs.
During my stay there was a heatwave, and the room became quite warm. Unfortunately, there was no fan or air conditioning, so the room may not be ideal during very hot weather.
