Jailhouse Inn

Breakfast was continental style but with a really wide choice. Staff were lovely and hotel was really well located.

The hotel is centrally located but is dated and could really do with a refurbishment! The room was large but the bathroom tiny. The noise at 5am on both nights woke us as the room was close to reception

There was a lot to like and the people were very friendly. The heating / cooling in the room felt dated and not very controlled or consistent. You were either sweating or freezing. For spending the amount of money you are spending, you would expect that to be solved. Further, there should be bellmen to help with getting bags up to rooms especially since there is not an elevator.

Staff courteous and helpful. Clean well appointed accommodations. Walking distance to downtown wharfs and shopping/restaurants.

Great location. We were able to walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go. The only place we had to drive to was cliff walk.

Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. There was ample parking, and the inn is very walkable to downtown Newport. Breakfast was a mixture of hot oatmeal and various home baked goods and some breads. There were always cookies in the dining room in the afternoon. The lemon blueberry cookies were delicious! We’re frequent travelers, and we would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Jailhouse Inn! The staff was very nice and accommodating with thoughtful touches like daily cookies, fresh coffee through the day and nice breakfast options. Our room was large and comfortable. We’d recommend staying here if you’re visiting Newport.

Great theme. Service was great and continental breakfast was good! Easy to walk anywhere downtown and parking lot included is huge peek in Newport!

Great location, staff and service was excellent

My go to place to stay in Newport. I love the history behind the building. The staff are so kind. The 3 PM cookies are a nice touch and so yummy. Book early as not to miss The Jailhouse Inn which will add to your visit to Newport , RI

Very convenient area the staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and I enjoyed the breakfast very much l loved that it had so much history and it was an actual jail, and you will see remnants of the original jailhouse. Would definitely stay again.

The inn is located in a great neighborhood and very easy access to the water taxi

Great overall stay. No frills. Very clean. Close to everything.

Honestly a great stay and very clean. Only thing that could be better is the air conditioning. The rooms have small built in units that barely work, which resulted in our room staying in the mid 70s at all times. After showers, the room would jump up into the 80s. Not a huge deal, or a dealbreaker as the stay was still excellent.

Nice historical property close to everything with free parking and breakfast.

Great location. Walking distance from the ferry. Very clean. We will stay again.
