Professional property host/manager
No cribs (infant beds) available
Very near to central town for shopping
Breakfast ok for the price but repeated menu daily
Wifi connection was good
Room ok, value for money and clean. We stayed for 2 nights
No kettle and tea/coffee facilities
Staff not really understand English especially at F&B area
The place was comfortable and clean and you get great accommodation for the price! Only down fall was the wifi was quite weak
An older hotel located about a 10 minute walk from Hatyai downtown area. The neighborhood was kind of sketchy. WiFi in the room was intermittent. Had to restart WiFi every few minutes.
Stayed here for 2 night.Front desk hv poor english communication.2 star toilet facilities.BUT the bed is like laying on the floor pretty hard though. No kettle in the room.Rooms are spacious.it will be the first&last for me to hatyai..prefer pattaya or krabi.
Went there some time back, value for money, and i really like the place. The wifi though, keeps dropping. I do like the decor and the bathroom. As for value for money, i guess it is good, i have stayed in that sakura hotel and one hotel near the suzuki showroom but they dont have that kind of decor rama has.
Most hotels in hatyai are cheap anyway, If you have any problems just talked to konsortium near Lee Garden Plaza, they will help you book a hotel.
Good location and value for money
This was a last minute choice and it turned out to be a good one
The counter initially refused my free breakfast even though it is stated in the booking. They agreed only after much debate. The also cant spare a double bed as stated during my booking instead gave me 2 single beds.
Stayed one night each on 18/Dec/14, 7/Jan/15 and 12/Jan/15 at 790B per night. The location on the quieter side of town just at the southern edge of CBD is perfect for me. Since I was the only one at the reception, check in was fast. The front staff can speak passable English, one receptionist can speak Mandarin and the Bell boy speaks good English and is very helpful. If you pay in advance, you can keep your passport with you otherwise they will keep it as security. The hotel seems renovated. The 4th floor has a smell of "newness" with new marble tiles but no carpeting. I prefer the 10th floor as it seems cleaner. The rooms and toilets are clean for a 3 star. There is hot water, 40" LCD TV with mostly Thai channels and a few English channels like CNA, English movies and Chinese CCTV. The air con and thermostat works well. The bed is somewhat hard but the linens are clean. Comes with 2 free bottles of water, some stationery, soap, shampoo and mini fridge. Cannot receive Wifi in the room but down at the lobby the wifi is pretty fast and there is a row of big sofa to slump into. One of the housekeeping staff is really nice and wished me good morning when I went to the lift and wished me good luck upon check out! Quiet and good sleep especially at the higher floors. Lee Hotel Plaza is about 15-20 mins of leisurely walking. Will continue to return.
Stayed 3 days and 2 nights at hotel at a room at 5th floor. The floor carpet was well worn. Bed linen has iron stain markings. The Wifi in room only in the toilet, rest of room no signal. The room air con(outside balcony) was very noisy and tripped electricity 5 times during my stay. Toilet was clean though. TV set was the small old type set. The balcony windows cannot be locked or shut. 6th floor under renovation so has noises through ceiling of room. Previously stayed at 6th floor about 5 months ago and it was OK then.
We stayed here in May 2014. We got a beautiful room with the skyline of Hatyai City and a bathroom complete with a tub. Aircon was rather warm though. Decorations are rather classic or old-fashioned, depends on how you see it. Everything was good, in my opinion, except for the hard beds. Have stayed in a couple of places around Thailand and still encountered the same issue: hard beds. Staff may not be very attentive.
Would stay here again if I visit Hatyai in the future.
We stayed here on the 12th April 2014 and checked out on 13th April 2014 and went to Krabi. On our way back we stayed there on the 16th April 2014 and Checked out on 17th April 2014 to return home.
The Wifi connection is fantastic. However the staff are rude. When we ask the bell boy anything he insist on us getting a message in the rooms. The front office staff kept talking in Thai when we ask them info in regards to the hotels facilities.
They do not understand English very well. Even when we greet them they just stare at you.
We book using trip advisor. On the way up we have breakfast. However on return no breakfast!
Surprise. .. Surprise...
About 1km from centre. Off street covered parking. Easy to find. Noisy air con. Firm beds. It's not great but I keep going back out of habit so it can't be that bad. Breakfast isn't great but no longer included in the room rate.
When there is new, people tend to forget the old.
This is the opportunity. when everybody is going for the new, obviously the new hotel would be busy.
What one needs is check in at a breeze, get into the room and you now have peace.
The general impression of old hotels is it may not be well kept.
However, Hatyai Rama tends to be the opposite. No doubt it is an old hotel, the setting and design was some what like 30 years ago,, but the rooms are still well maintained, clean.
Every morning the house keeping team will open all the available room doors. That would keep away the old musty and moist smell.
Its was a awesome group trip to Hatyai. Really enjoyed my 3 days stay at Rama Hotel. Walking distance from center of Hatyai Town.
The hotel serves a reasonably decent food. Halal for muslim travellers. The rooms has got a rustic look but rest assured its kept clean.
Arrival at Rama Hotel 12pm Hat Yai time,i and my family take two rooms.Date check in on 24/3/2013 check out 27/3/2013.Problem with staff cant speak English, you have show something if you ask for help.Massage service was good only old massage to expansive 600bt (rm 60)but still ok .Shopping place just near hotel you can working if you need to go for shopping ,if you go
Hat Yai on Sunday make sure you more careful about price fr tuk tuk .All my family very happy go Hat Yai for shopping and try Tom Yam there.
Hotel was within walking distance to most parts of Hatyai city. Hotel staff were unable to communicate in english well .You need to walk around cos most shops are within the hotel . Massage services in Hatyai is terrible , very unlike the earlier years.
Prices of most goods are also up and some stall owners are quite rude nowadays.
I stayed 2 nights in this hotel and It is not bad at all. Although it may look old, you get all the necessities for a value price. No toothbrush, paste, jug kettle, hairdryer were provided. However not to worry you may call the housekeeping and they will provide you with hairdryer and jug kettle. The rest you've got to buy from 7-eleven which is within 5 minutes walk. Almost all the TV channels are Thai channels but it doesn't bother you much as you will be spending most of your time shopping and visiting buddhist temples. I was there on saturday night and I had a real nice slow walk to the night market. It took me about 15-20mins to the night market whic is located right in front of Lee Garden Plaza. The market is like heaven with full of foods. Mango sticky rice (THB30), large fried prawn (THB 30) and nasi lemak was also found there. Besides that, i would rate average for the massage service offered by the hotel (THB 600 for 2 hours) the massage room looks gloomy. I recommend you to look for massage parlour outside which is all over the street once you walk out of this hotel.
The breakfast buffet was good with limited choice. Comes with boiled sausages, fried rice, eggs:sunny side up, cereals, coffee, tea, toast, char koay with coconut jam (you've gotta try it). The milk provided for the coffee is evaporated milk thus it taste bad if it goes with coffee. Ask the restaurant staff for fresh milk or get this by yourself (it was hidden in a corner right next to the cereal counter). We did not notice this as it supposed to be placed right next to the coffee counter.
i once said, i won,t stay here again, but i did in may for 2 nights, and it was good , check in
was quick and efficent, had a voucher from sawadee, paid about 650 i think, no breakfast, my choice, room was very clean and tidy, my mate had the room next to mine, his was the same
over the road is a great nightclub and resturant, many hostesses and no shortage of the amber fluid, around the corner is a great cheap spa ,for all the family called presuka spa, make sure you check it out,the bellboy allways ask,s you want massage, hes a future millonaire, great guy,i would stay here again ,it,s old and dated ,but all in all a good stay.
I have stayed here on many previous trips. This is a good place for a business traveler to stay.
Rooms are priced at THB680 during the Christmas Season. There is free WiFi, Safety Boxes at the office and they will need to keep your passport until check-out.
The rooms and bathrooms are a little old and worn from wear and tear but they are clean. The rooms smell pleasant, are quiet and the bed, beddings and towels are excellent.
A great place to stay on a budget!
The hotel location is a little off the town centre of Hatyai. You can walk to the city centre in 15 minutes ( 1 km ). There are taxis (Tuk-tuks) which charge a standard fee of THB2 per person for any location in Hatyai.
Credit Cards are accepted and it has a basement car park. The receptionist are pleasant.
The good news is they have begun renovating the upper floors of the hotel. Which means in a few months the hotel will be an even better place to stay.
