Old-world character, excellent service, and an unbeatable location
Pros:

I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive about booking a hotel dating back to the 1960s, worried it might be dated and tired, especially with so many newer options nearby. I needn’t have been. The hotel wears its history beautifully: the retro décor and design feel classic rather than old, thanks to how lovingly they have been kept. The staff were attentive throughout and spoke excellent English, and the location puts you right in the heart of Tenjin. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and were glad we opted for the Superior Double, which gave us plenty of room to spread out. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Cons:

Nothing we disliked as such, but worth flagging for older guests or anyone with limited mobility: there’s a small step up into the bathroom, so it may be worth checking with the hotel beforehand if that could be an issue.
