Shangri-La Boutique Bed & Breakfast

Shangri-la B&B is appropriately named! A true tropical oasis. Rose and staff are so warm and welcoming it almost feels like staying with friends or family. Nice meeting with other guests for breakfast on the screen porch to talk about our plans for the day and what we had already seen. Complimentary daily coffee, tea, cereal, breads, and spreads every morning. So many thoughtful touches: beach towels, chairs, bikes and helmets, and yoga mats and closets full of anything else you might need like hats or binoculars. Baskets of sunscreen and bug spray for guest use. Clothesline at the side of the house to hang wet swimwear.

We had the luxurious Cayman Palm room, with an extremely comfortable bed and Jacuzzi tub. We also used the pool and hot tub outside frequently. We had a few minor issues with the room that were promptly remedied. The door had a key code lock.

One morning we ordered the hot breakfast, which was served by Rose, another employee, and Rose’s mom who handed around fresh muffins other days too! (Like delicious green apple/cinnamon.). It included veggies omelets, hash browns, bacon and sausage, banana muffins, and a huge bowl of fresh fruit. It was so much food there was enough leftover to eat for breakfast the next day too!

I communicated several times with Rose by email before our visit, and she was always available to contact during our stay through WhatsApp. She made us feel right at home, and gave us big hugs when we left. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay! :)

My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous week at Shangri-la. Located 1 minute off a major road artery, the property is ideally located where everything seems to be a 5 to 10 minute drive away: incredible ocean side restaurants, grocery / liquor stores, 7 Mile Beach and other amenities. The George Town airport is about 15 minutes away. The property offered all the amenities we could ask for: spacious suites (including a balcony off our suite), free parking, a quaint pool, access to a full kitchen and the patio BBQ all surpassed our expectations. More than all of the above, Miss Rose (the innkeeper) made us feel so welcome and ensured a most memorable stay. We have already booked for 2027!

This was our first trip to Grand Cayman but it won't be our last. The island itself is beautiful and the food scene is truly exciting but the icing on the cake was the incredible hospitality and comfort we experienced at the Shangri-La B&B. The venue is charming and while it's not within walking distance to those clear turquoise waters of Seven Mile Beach, it is less than 10 minutes by car. We loved that after walking the beach each morning we could leave the wall to wall hotels along the water and return to the tranquility of Shangri-la. Rose, couldn't have been more welcoming, gracious and helpful throughout our one week stay. She and Haltia brought the true people factor that you just don't always get in larger establishments. Thank-you both and we'll see you next year!

This was my second stay at Shangri-la and my first in the 2 bedroom Papaya Suite and it was perfect. 7 glorious nights in comfort and solitude. The location is perfect if you want to be close to 7 Mile Beach, but not in the thick of it. Ms. Rose and Ms. Haltia took care of every need we had and were extremely accommodating. The serenity and beauty of this place are really indescribable and yet we were a 5 min drive to Public Beach. The unit was perfect for 4 sisters and was equipped with absolutely everything we needed - the washer and dryer made packing easier and the kitchen allowed us to stock up on groceries from Foster’s and eat in whenever we wanted. They also have all of the beach gear you need (including snorkel gear). We even walked to Tukka on night for delicious tacos and fed the birds - which happens everyday at 6:00pm. Ms. Rose also makes great morning coffee to go along with our toast and granola - which is included in your stay. I can’t see myself ever staying someplace else! 10/10 would recommend!

Shangri-la is a wonderful place to stay for your home away from home feeling. My husband and I stayed at Shangri-la for a week and we were very happy with the experience. We chose the breakfast plan and the food was excellent. Not only was the food excellent and plentiful, we also met other couples that stayed there and really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendliness of the place. The staff are kind and accommodating to your needs. Rose does an amazing job running the B&B. You really get to rest and relax at Shangri-la. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

Shangri-La Bed & Breakfast is truly a hidden gem! My husband and I had a wonderful stay and Rose was the perfect host. All of the staff there were very friendly and went out of their way to make our experience better. Rose went above and beyond several times during our stay! She helped us get a rental car, she drove us back to the B&B from a nearby restaurant and went out of her way to purchase me decaf coffee. Rose greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a tour of the grounds and gave us great information about where to visit, great restaurant recommendations, etc. There are two bikes on the property that you can use. We rode them to a local restaurant a couple of times during our stay. If you want a quiet, peaceful, relaxing place to stay that is close to 7 mile beach, this is your place. We appreciated the clean beach towels, sunscreen and bug spray that were available to us to use since we only brought a carry on bag. Shangri-La is well maintained and the rooms were very clean and nice. I would highly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay at Shangri-La. This B&B is a beautiful, clean and comfortable haven in a peaceful location. Rose is a wonderful, caring host who takes good care of her guests. Shangri -La will definitely be our choice for return visits to Grand Cayman.

The staff was truly one of the highlights of our trip, with Rose being an exceptional host - incredibly hardworking, kind, and fun. Her mother, Venus, served us a fantastic breakfast every morning.
Hatia's kindness stood out; they're truly beautiful people. The check-in process was warmly welcoming, and the room was tidied up daily for those who opted for the Shangri-La experience. Everything, including the pool and hot tub, was impeccably clean. The common areas were equipped with comfortable couches and a kitchen.
Being just 3 miles from the beautiful Seven Mile beach, which l've ever seen, and within walking distance to Tucka restaurant where you can catch a bus to anywhere, made it even more special. Given the price and the staff, it's priceless. I'll definitely be back every year and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Last week we had the pleasure of going to Cayman and staying at Shangr-la. Miss Rose was the perfect host - she made sure we had everything we needed and was warm and welcoming starting in the parking lot as soon as we arrived. The rooms were clean and comfortable and her Mom made delicious baked goodies in the morning! I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and applaud Miss Rose for her fabulous care of all of her guests.

The reviews are true - this is a gem of a place in Grand Cayman up on West Bay. Fantastic attention to detail, tastefully furnished rooms and lounge area, super facilities with the pool and loungers and the most amazing value compared with the resorts on 7 Mile Beach. The suites are incredibly spacious, spotless and super quiet. If you order breakfast, they are large, freshly cooked, beautifully presented and above all very, very delicious.

Bicycles available to cycle to local restaurants on 7 Mile Beach ( which we did) which is all super easy, safe and great fun. Sunset on West Bay Beach was a highlight, as was ‘Calypso’ and its Sticky Toffee Pudding a mere 900meters to the east.

So what’s the best bit of detail you need to know? Rose! Rose is the amazing hostess who runs and manages the Shangri - La Boutique B&B. She is so attentive, helpful, genuine and fun that the ‘vibe’ of this gem of a place is driven by her enthusiasm for life and her very successful business. She is standout. If we come back diving in Grand Cayman, then we are coming back to stay here for the facilities and to meet Rose again. She is a life tonic and the Shangri -La is the best hidden gem on Grand Cayman.

Shangri-La was truly a home away from home. I had a condo in West Bay, right down the road, since 2009 and am currently waiting for my new condo to be built. I last minute called to book for that day and asked to book on a day to day basis as I might be traveling to Cayman Brac or stay with friends. I didn’t want to do either!! I wanted nothing more than to stay at Shangri-La. Rose and the entire staff are amazing. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate me. Rose offered to wait up late for my arrival, checked in frequently (I wasn’t sure of my departure date and ended up staying my entire intended stay…plus one extra week!) or relied almost immediately. The grounds are beautiful and serene, the perfect tucked away hidden gem. Loved lounging in the hammock and always having fresh beach towels daily. I wish I was still there. Even when my condo is finished I plan on doing a staycation and will have all my guests that visit stay there.

If you need a peaceful and quiet place this is the place to be. We love the ambience specially in the morning having our coffee. Rose always there if you need help or you need something. Going to recommend this to my friends! Can’t wait to come back.

Shangri-la is one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed at! The location is easy to get to and close to several attractions and restaurants in Grand Cayman. Every time I stay at Shangri-la I am welcomed like family! Rose is an amazing host and the home made breakfast is outstanding. The property itself is spotless, has beautiful landscaping, a lovely pool area and is so cozy and quiet. You will not regret booking a room at Shangri-la for your stay in Grand Cayman!

The location is great and peaceful. The atmosphere is clean and the rooms are a vibe. The value of it is very reasonable and be ready to hear roosters as their noise level can wake you up. The service is spectacular and the amenities are fly. I’d go back for sure.

Stayed at Shangri-La with my friends who were visiting from the US. The Papaya Suite we stayed at was spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood was also quiet and accessible (just at the end ofthe bypass road). Thank you, Rose for accommodating us!

This was a perfect choice for our trip to Grand Cayman. The property is very well maintained and all the employees are very friendly and helpful. We appreciate Rose, Chris, and the housekeeper (who I only saw from a distance and didn't get a chance to exchange names) who made our stay stress free.

The location is great. It's close to dive and snorkeling spots, restaurants,and grocery shops. I liked being close to seven mile beach but away from the crowds.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is truly charming, well kept, fair priced, and is an easy drive from the airport, as well as with 15 minutes of multiple beach and restaurant locations. Our Host Rose was truly a joy to deal with. She was attentive, helpful and always there for us when we needed her. Her professionalism and personality are second to none. You will not regret your stay at the shangrila! This was my 5th time in the Cayman and my second stay at Shangri, and there will many more to come in the future! :)

This is my second time staying as a guest at my new home away from home. I travel all over the world and this is by far the most impressive stay I have had all year. The property is so beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The energy you feel the second you walk in makes you feel like you are instantly on vacation and can begin to unwind from your busy life. Miss Haltia is so sweet and greets you with a smile and keep everything spotless and beautiful. Rose is by far the BEST host I have ever met. She truly goes above and beyond for all her guests. She anticipates your needs, builds connections and manages before and during your stay at a world class level of excellence. I can’t wait to return again!
