Want to share my brother's experience staying in this hotel with others. He was sent to this hotel for quarantine. Upon arrival to the hotel, no one was there to assist on luggage but it is acceptable as the hotel was probably short on staff or due to covid safety measures. Corridors towards the hotel room was very dark and the walls along the way was chipping off (guess no maintenance was done to the hotel), upon entering the hotel room, a strong cigarette smell covered the entire room
Bathroom was dirty, room was obviously not clean thoroughly before, towels was dirty, bedsheets was dirty, air con in the room was leaking and You can even smell someone smoking in the room next to you! What's worst is that the air con wasn't working in the middle of the night. When called the receptionist to complain instead of sending their maintenance staff, they asked to switch off the aircon for few minutes before switching it on again.
I have just One question, shouldn't a hotel that is listed as a quarantine center prioritize cleanliness?
What's worst is that this hotel cannot accept criticism. We posted a comment in their facebook page regarding these issues, instead of improving their services, they sent their staff up to my brother's room & threatened him to delete the comment on facebook. Is this how you run a hotel? Threaten hotel guests for leaving a negative comment?
Strategic location within Kuching interesting & tourist places of visit and only 5-10 minutes walking distance to the famous Kuching Waterfront. And also the entry to local Kampung lifestyle along Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol.
Checked in from 12-15/4/19 for the purpose of attending relatives wedding in Kuching. On the 2nd day, we received many missed calls from the hotel during the wedding reception, just to receive a news that a hotel towel is stained (probably from hair dye) and they demanded a compensation of RM50, which was paid.
When we ask for them to give us the towel(since we paid for it) they declined, they even refused rudely to show us the presumably 'stained' towel. They were two Malay girls at the counter.
Logically speaking, when we paid for a presumably damaged towel, we should be given that towel because we paid for it (without any evidence showing the towel is stained), but the request were declined by the mannerless front counter people. Secondly, it is not nice for the hotel to be contacting their customer in the middle of an event, just to deliver such news, there was NO URGENCY AT ALL.
Apart from all these, we were asked to check out at 11am (instead of the originally 12pm) just because we paid the outstanding bills early - at 10am plus. We tried getting back into the room after paying, just to find out our room was already locked.
Not to mention the always-out-of-service passenger lift.
These are all unfortunate events experienced by us, it is very disappointing to encounter things like these, especially when you have been a loyal regular customer to the hotel.
Sincerely;
will not stay here again in the future.
We were under the impression this was a 3 star + hotel but were disappointed. On the credit side although lacking any interesting views it is close to town and the staff were polite and followed up any requests. The room was tidied each day and clean towels provided each day. No complaints about food - Breakfast each day was nasi lemak, noodles, baked beans and sausages or potato wedges plus white bread for toasting and fresh fruit. Not a lot of choice but tasty and staff ensured the food supply was constantly replenished. The room itself was old, drab, musty to the point where we went out to buy air freshener, the pillows were stained, with no wardrobe or hangers, just a small curtained off space in the entry with hooks to hang a few items. There was a fridge but no room safe. The bathroom was small, dingy with no space to place toiletries, sponge bag etc. Wifi was intermittent and slow. Very much budget accommodation and for a similar price in a recent visit to Krabi the facilities there were spacious, bright and provided a much more pleasant stay.
We chose this hotel because it offered room safe, wifi and a discounted rate. It claimed to be a 3 star hotel and from the promotional materials and photos, it promised to be a desirable choice. On checking in, we were given an upgrade to a deluxe room, however the room that we got was small, musky, no wardrobe just hooks to hang clothings, extremely small bathroom with leaking toilet. We ended up having to buy a can of air freshener to mask the musky smell of the room. The room and double bed were very basic at best with soiled pillows as not much better pillow cases an bedsheets. The promised room safe was not there while the wifi were so slow and ineffective that we had to make several tries to do our web check in.
Our daily breakfast consisted of nasi lemak and fried noodles daily suplimented with fruit juice, coffee, tea, 2 kind of fruits (papaya and watermelons). While they are quite tasty, there wasn't much choice.
I found the staff were friendly but room service was lacking.
Would I recommend this hotel? No.. Not as a three star hotel but as a basic budget hotel it is adequate.
In terms of location, this might not be the best hotel to stay as it is located near the kampung area. The surrounding area will be very quiet after 6pm except for few restaurants and stalls nearby. However, taxis, uber or Grab are easily available should you need to one.
The room is quite small, no wardrobe to put your clothes in. In terms of cleanliness, there are a lot of rooms for improvement. The daily housekeeping was not effective as I can witness the accumulation of dust during my 3 weeks stay.
Don't expect much on the food selection for your breakfast buffet. Normally they will serve Fried Rice, Fried Noodle, Chicken or beef curry, potato wedges or hot dog, fruits, porridge and bread. However, I must admit that the cooking is quite good.
The elevator / lift will be your nightmare! It makes some funny loud sounds. I warn you, you have to be patience with the access card. You have to swipe the cards many times before the sensor can detect.
Overall, the hotel is quite nice for a solo or couple traveler for a short stay.
i'm happy with the doorman...always smile help to open and close door for you. some of the staff very helpful. but the reception staff on duty very hard to smile but i see she is one of the best staff at the lift...we can hear people from the other room, so its not so privacy. but its ok... the room service boy so friendly..very generous with a smile. its feel very welcoming...the food for breakfast just average..not even warm...the taste just so..so..... the room is very not like people said..not clean at all... seem they not fix the damage.. the shower very dangerous because the hot and cold water must adjust correctly if not either they're too hot.. the door broken...maybe the staff not even clean the shower door at all. very dirty... my conclusion for my experience in not as i expected from the review i read.
Hotel a little tired, rooms could be cleaner - wiped the top of the surface over the 'fridge and the paper was black. Odd lumpy pillows. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast variable. Convenient for the Sarawak museum - well worth visiting, and the buses for Bako and the Sunday Market. We left our bags there when we went to Bako national park for 2 nights. Very good Malaysian food stalls one block from the hotel, same side of the road as the hotel and next to the roundabout.
Nights 6 and 9 of our 23 night Sarawak and Sabah trip and hotel 3.
Superb...for a budget hotel..thumbs up...simple & it is nice..cozy as well...service at it's best..safe park for ur vehicles...cafe is good...for less disable person...u can ask for a special room that have a special toilet for disable person...ONE WORD...supperb
checked in for just one night for transit. here are the things that i like:
1. clean rooms, no funky smell.
2. free and ample parking
3. good enough free breakfast
4. location - near a lot of halal eateries, mosque. walking distance to everything
5. staffs - friendly.
things that i dont like:
1. bathroom - small & dirty. rusty soap holder, sinks etc.
2. small lift - only one. plus the card reader is notoriously difficult to read.
3. rather pricey with otherwise run down bathroom.
A local friend highly recommended this hotel and booked the rooms for us. Room rate for a single bed is RM155 per night. Checked in late with 4 other colleagues. The room was not what I expected at the rate although decent and clean. We had to eat our dinner at a nearby stall as the hotel cafe was closed for dinner. Breakfast was provided but the choices were very limited. Nothing tasted good. Won't recommend this hotel to those who are used to stay in 4-5 stars hotels.
Nice view from ROOM 206. thru the window can see sarawak river and Kuching Mosque, near with local restaurant.
Room is clean and provided with basic fasilities. Quiet and cozy.
Breakfast food not bad of taste and have a variety.
I'm sorry my english not fluent so that i can't tell much about my experience but overall was ok and highly recommended especially to muslim. TQ :)
Found myself booking this hotel when my first choice hotel is fully booked. Its located near the old Kuching mosque, and easily accessible. Check in was fast, and the friendly staffs usher me to my room in no time. Its nicely decorated, with most amenities available and seems to be quite new albeit a bit on the smaller side - at least the room I booked.
Buffet breakfast has quite a variety, but fret not, local restaurants are just a short walk away. It should be enough to start your day. The hotel might be a bit off the touristy trail but one can sample what the locals do and shop at the nearby Pasar Satok. Or take a short walk to the Kuching Waterfront. Do take your time and enjoy what Kuching have to offer - sight, sound, history and culture :)
We were put in room 313. The room is quite small hardly any space to perform our solat. There is no wardrobe, only a little corner with curtain to hang your cloth and the shelf is falling apart. There is no proper tap to take wuduk, we have to use shower and bathroom are poorly design. Room is clean and we have window overlooking junks behind shop-lots. Breakfast are
We picked this hotel due to its close proximity to Kuching Marathon 2014 starting point at Padang Merdeka. It took us about 4 minute's walk only so we saved on taxi fare. It is also within walking distance to famous Waterfront and the city's point of interests. Check-in & check-out are easy and the staffs helpful & friendly. We booked a triple room (a queen size + extra bed). Nothing fancy about the room but it sure helps for a night's rest before the race. The buffet breakfast...oh boy, it was simple but delicious! (Esp. the fried kuey teow and vege soup). I'd definitely stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel 2 days 3 nights. Room was small but very clean. The bathroom also clean and nice. It has lot of stall outside the hotel. I think it is kind of food court. For muslim, there is no need to worry about food bcs all those stall are run by muslim. I think pretty hard to find muslim restaurant in sarawak so if you stay here you don't have to worry abt finding halal foods. If you want to walk to Waterfront it only takes 15 minutes.
It is Ramadhan and I am flying off to Kuching conducting training. The request was to checked me in a hotel near a masjid for easy breakfast and solat tarawih. The principal booked me Dormani Hotel beside Kuching Grand Mosque.
The evening flight took off at 19:45hours and touch down almost two hours later. Arriving at the hotel, it is almost 22:30hours. They have just completed their Ramadhan breakfast buffet. Checking in was smooth as prior booking has been made by the principal. I was given a single room for my four nights stay.
It is a simple hotel. The reception is small and furnished with very minimal fittings. However, it has ample seating for guests waiting to checking in or checking out.
Going up to the room, you need to use the key card to enable the lift. The room allocated to me is at the second floor at the corner of the hotel. It is small but enough to fit in a standard single bed with side table, a writing desk and a dressing table. If you wish to share the room it can accomodate a portable extra bed.
The room is at the end of the block and the plus point is I have windows around me except at the writing table which they place the flat screen TV as well. The basic amenities such as electric kettle, complimentary coffee and tea as well as a bottle of drinking water is provided. I did request for ironing tools and was sent promptly by the housekeeping staff.
During my stay they are having promotion where room charge is included of morning breakfast (sahur). So that is very welcoming to the Muslim guests as they can have their morning meals before fasting at the hotel.
The hotel cafe is located at the ground floor next to the reception. I can't comment their breakfast offering as for the sahur, they served reasonable menus but their porridge was awesome. They also have function rooms that can accomodate about 300 pax on the same floor.
Before I forget, all rooms receive complimentary newspaper in the morning and free wireless internet access. Please ask for their security key from the reception. Overall, it is a nice hotel to stay especially if you are looking for a place near a masjid.
Not my choice but since it is close to where our family was staying during a wedding weekend, it was convenient so we stayed for one night. Definitely not up to my expectations, as the photos on the website looks OK. We were checked-in to a smoking room, on a smoking floor. The room still smelled terrible although the staff gave air freshener (gel type). Apparently there wasn't any available non-smoking room that weekend, which I found odd because I didn't see that many guests staying over. Room's lighting and bathroom lighting are dim. Bathroom smells bad too. Breakfast was terrible - very oily sausages and kuay tiaw, not properly cooked half-boiled eggs. I think the management of the hotel should look into maintaining the hotel better.
Is near to bus stops and hawkers stalls. Breakfast ok but more to Asian style.
It was raining the time when we stayed, walking in and out the hotels is very dirty cause the road in front of the hotel is a little flooded and narrow. At night is very quiet and dark, but so far I feel that safety is fine in Kuching. Wifi provided but slow. Staffs are friendly and helpful.
