Great , beautiful, relaxing place to stay,
Bar and restaurant on site
Little outdated
Place is tired but staff very friendly.
I liked the location and the staff were super friendly and helpful
It was a little rundown, and the pool was not working
Belinda, at the front desk, was highly professional, courteous, and informative at my check-in, and was responsive when I mentioned some of the 'issues' I found with the room (i.e., TVs weren't working, bathroom faucet handle came off, lamp next to bed wasn't working, and AC wasn't keeping room cool). It's a nice old resort, but some of these maintenance issues should be addressed to make the stay of the next guest better.
Despite the facility being a little dated (one townhouse lacked AC), it was great for our family reunion at this time of year--from the pool and golf course to the town and the mountains. We also enjoyed the Lake House for an afternoon on the water. Nice and quiet, good beds.
The staff have been the most friendliest and accommodating. Golfing was great as well. Food was great. We stayed at the townhouses and the room we were in needs a little updating, but it was very clean and spacious.
• Classic resort hotel with a long history going back to the 1800's.
My room had a small living room, a bedroom and a bath. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable.
• My friends and I planned a golf weekend. We loved the 18 hole course. The total package of room, dining, and golf for 3 days was surprisingly adorable.
• The entire staff were generous, kind and very professional; from the front desk staff, housekeeping, dining wait-staff and golf shop personnel.
• Hope to be booking again soon!
Bethel itself is worth the trip — one of the most charming and beautiful small towns in New England. But The Bethel Resort & Suites made the stay truly memorable.
From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely went out of their way to make us feel welcome. You can tell the people here take pride in what they do.
We spent a good chunk of time in the health club, and the heated outdoor pool and sauna were the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Clean, well-maintained, and exactly what you want after a full day out.
If you’re looking for a basecamp for the Western Maine outdoors — or just a relaxing escape with real New England character — this is the place. We’ll be back.
It’s old style charm and within a nice neighborhood to walk around.
The handicap ramp to our room is in great need of repair. The walkway has broken concrete which does not bode well for wheelchair or walker use. They do have it roped off and I mentioned it to the clerk.
The French toast and bacon was good
Also Danish was good.
Majestic older hotel. Location was just a few blocks from where we were attending a family weekend at our granddaughter’s school. The Mountain View was beautiful!
Walking up stairs with luggage. We will request a first floor room next time.
Enjoyed this nostalgic building in the serene setting. Wonderful staff and Gen X breakfast!
Due to age of building and time of year, a faint odor of mustiness occasionally arose. Some of the doors in common areas close too quickly. The main door to the front desk had cracks in the glass where if one were to try to stop the door from closing a serious injury was potential.
Schade.
