God utsikt utover elva. Gode senger.
No frills place and very clean. There’s a common living room, kitchen and laundry you can use. We had five people in our room however they only had four blankets and when we asked for the 5th one they said since no one’s on site they will bring it the next day however they never did. Luckily we were visiting family so they provided one for us. Just know you won’t get any onsite help if you need.
Falsche Info auf die Raume! Unfreundlich Kundensupport!
I had a generally good stay at the hotel. The location is great – in a clean area right by the water, and I was lucky to get a room with a nice view. The room was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated.
One small downside was the check-in time. 3 PM felt a bit late for me personally, but it worked out in the end.
The only real issue was the bathroom: after showering, the whole floor would get wet due to the lack of a curtain or screen. That’s something that could definitely be improved.
Overall, a pleasant stay in a nice area – I’d consider coming back.
Tuulettimesta huolimatta huone oli o.aan makuun liian lämmin.
I booked the junior suite. It is located in the corner of the 5th floor. So the panorama view over the Ruoholahti residential area, the Ruoholahti Canal, the Crusell Bridge and the Baltic Sea is amazing. I especially loved the large balcony with sea/canal view. It was great to sit there and watch the sunset. Besides, the view was good even from the bathroom (and the sauna) but unfortunately windows were a bit dirty. I think that you can't get better view anywhere else in Helsinki than in this junior suite. Standard rooms haven't quite as good views.
Prices are very reasonable in this hotel because they haven't any check-in services or breakfast there. You only get a key code by e-mail or by text message 30-60 minutes before your check-in time. A shared laundry room, a shared mini kitchen and a very large shared living room with three microwave ovens, many table groups and a coffee machine (with charge) are available.
This hotel is located less than 2.5 kilometers from the city center, 1 kilometer from the West Harbor, 700 meters from Ruoholahti metro station and next to Crusellinsilta tram stop. I walked from the central railway station to the hotel. It took 30-40 minutes. There are very beautiful walking areas near the hotel, too. I especially recommend nearby parks, especially Saukonpaadenpuisto and Hyväntoivonpuisto.
You can't get better value for money anywhere else! I paid only 165 euros (including taxes) for one night in May and I got an excellent junior suite with a furnished balcony and an own electric sauna in this centrally located hotel. However, the best part of my junior suite was the stunning sea view to the Bay of Lauttasaarensalmi, the Crusell Bridge (read separate Tripadvisor reviews of it) and the Ruoholahti Canal (read separate Tripadvisor reviews of it, too). There was a big window even in the bathroom!
There are obvious reasons for cheap prices. This is a small hotel with only 13 rooms and there isn't any staff in the hotel. So there aren't any reception services or breakfast in the hotel. You only get a key code by e-mail or by text message 30-60 minutes before check-in time. It was quite hard to find the main door of the hotel but after that everything worked well. For your notice, the entrance is situated on the street corner of Länsisatamankatu 16 and Martin Wegeliuksen kuja.
Lack of breakfast isn't any problem. You find a small shared kitchen and a big shared living room with three microwave ovens, electric kettles and a coffee machine in the hotel. Besides, I had a fridge and a freezer in my room. There are also several cafeterias and restaurants near the hotel. There is also a shared laundry room in the hotel.
I stayed in the junior suite alone but it is ok for 2-3 people, too. You find two beds and a single sofa bed chair in the junior suite. You can enjoy self-adjustable air conditioning, a portable air-conditioning machine, a television, a big shower, an electric sauna and a large balcony in the junior suite. The hotel is situated on the 5th floor (or on the 4th floor if the ground floor is 0) and so you can see the panorama of Ruoholahti area.
Actually Hiisi Hotel is located at the border of Ruoholahti and Jätkäsaari, on the bank of Ruoholahti Canal, on the side of Jätkäsaari. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the city center (2.5 kilometers from the central railway station and the Esplanade Park). Jätkäsaari is the new residential area of Helsinki. You find beautiful new houses, cozy parks, scenic walking routes and interesting restaurants there. There are still some construction works in Jätkäsaari but the area surrounding the hotel is ready and you won't hear any noise there.
I only had two problems in Hiisi Hotel. Windows were quite dirty and they should be cleaned. Secondly I didn't like the smell of the liquid hand soap (actually it was said to be fragrance-free). So you see that I only had minor problems and this hotel is almost perfect if you don't mind the lack of service. However, final cleaning is included in room prices.
I really recommend that you should book this junior suite and enjoy the stunning view. Besides, it is wonderful to sit at the balcony and enjoy the architecture of the Crusell Bridge and bright summer nights!
Absolute s*hole with electrical sockets hanging from wall and public showers without ability to lock door. This place looks good from far but is far from good. Everything is worn out or broken. Kitchen and dining room seemed ok. Rooms had smart tvs and decent views which was a plus. Smallest rooms had no good place for suitcase.
Hotellissa on yhteinen keittiö, jonka varustelu käytössä yöpymisen aikana. Siitä voisi kertoa esittelytekstissä ja kohteen mukavuuksissa.
It was quite noisy at night and the Doors didnt keep noises away anyway it was nice view good place and jätkäsaari is amazing but toilets were not so good and Doors seemed to be quite weak and we could not sleep so well so it was a bit stressfull and so many noises at night
Flera restauranger i området.
Expensive cheap hotel. Not suitable for disabled. Location forces moving with public transport. No breakfast. If need to move around town and eat in the morning, a real hotel is better option.
Recently built, yet already floors being repaired and tiles loose in the bathroom. Room is cold even in mild winter weather, extra heat blower in the room (provided). Ie. it will be hot in the summer.
I found the hotel really convenient, with easy access to public transport and close to the terminal for going to Tallinn, if you wanted to. It's also just a few minutes from the city centre, which is great. One point to note is that there is no on-site reception, which I hadn't noticed when I booked. However, half an hour before check-in time, I received an e-mail with all the information I needed, and everything went perfectly.
