The Rock House Hotel

Had the best time celebrating our anniversary at The Rock House. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Honestly, felt like you were staying at a great friend’s house. The food is amazing! Can’t wait to go back.

Great property

We had the most amazing time in our recent six-night stay in the White Sage Room! From the moment we walked in we felt at home. Every single person who we interacted with felt like a family member. We literally felt like a guest in someone's home. We will definitely be returning to The Rock House!

Rock House Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Harbour Island.

I stayed in the Bougainvillea room, which is cool and spacious, with a huge bed and lovely shower. Henry and his team are consistently kind and welcoming and provide superlative service. The dinners I ate at Rock House were the most enjoyable meals I had during 8 nights in Harbour Island. Do not miss the blackened grouper or the lobster tail.

Service at the beach is equally attentive. The modesty of Mrs V's beach hut belies the quality of the food and drink she provides. Her cocktails are made with real fruit juice and pack a definite punch and her burgers are freshly cooked and come with a delicious salad. Her grouper burger was better than any you might find further down the beach - at twice the cost.

We stayed at Rock House for 5 nights. We are a very well traveled middle age couple and found this resort to be a 3 star, at best, resort. The resort is a short walk from ferry terminal, but up a very steep flight of stairs. Thankfully, we rented a golf cart on our own after reading reviews of Harbor Island. The resort, while close, is not near the beach. It's a short ride or very long walk away. Unfortunately, while we were there the Atlantic was very rough and not safe to swim. I made all my dinner reservations on my own prior to our arrival. By oversight I had forgotten a dinner reservation for one evening and trying to get a reservation at the resort's restaurant was not easy and had to take a 5:30. I wish they had requested you make all reservations beforehand or mention guests do not have preferential dinner time reservations. It would be nice to have some overview how this works. The dinners were very good and our waiters were always friendly and pleasant. During breakfast there was only one woman working and she was hustling to have the continental breakfast/coffee counter filled and take/serve seated customer's orders. Our breakfast took forever so we preferred the marina restaurant down the road. The pool closes at 5 to set up for dinner so we were disappointed about not having anywhere to hang out after the beach. The cabana by your room is overrun with mosquitos. The bartenders, in the evening, were the best employees we encountered. Very friendly and made the best drinks. We ventured off property to several properties. We really enjoyed Coral Sands and their beach bar during the days. Rock House has live music one night of the week and we really enjoyed that evening. The female singer was great. I wish they had had entertainment more than one evening. Some of the employees looked annoyed when we tried to get directions to several places on the island. Maybe a printed map of the island would help alleviate that problem. Having travelled the entire Caribbean we have experienced so many other properties worthy of this price point on other islands.

Half a block and you're shopping, whether you went north or south! People are friendly and helpful. I was walking up steep hill and guy gave me a ride for free.

We had a wonderful stay at the rock house! Excellent location. Beautiful views. Delicious food! Everyone is so happy and accommodating. It is beautifully decorated and has a lot of areas to hang out in. Highly recommend! We will be back!

I was in search of splendor and solitude and scrumptious food - the accommodations at The Rock House did not disappoint! Firstly this iconic hotel has a rich and storied history. The current owners and managing owners Henry and Teynarae and superb. I stayed in the Rock House Villa. The villa was beautifully decorated by the exceptional interior decorator Trish Becker. From the kitchen to the master bedroom to the upstairs terrace and three bedrooms, it was inviting and no detail unnoticed. I loved the Molton Brown toiletries, the Matouk linens and towels - everything was pristine.

Now the restaurant… Where do I begin… from the lobster to the amazingly delicates season boiled fish soup! Simply perfection.

I would highly recommend staying here / dining here - particularly in the newly renovated villa. An incredible stay and experience, with top notch staff. Thank you to the Rock House team!

Great staff and experience

Had a great stay at Rock House. Henry and his staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed some meals and drinks, which were great too. Central location near the dock, you don't really need a golf cart every day even though most people get one. The beach setup and staff were great too.

We stayed in the plumeria suite mid June. We enjoyed the natural light and the suite was roomy. The weather was rainy our entire stay, so we ended up staying in most of our trip. For the most part, nothing spectacular about the visit or the service. Additionally, due to weather delays, and cancelled flight we got there 1 day later than our reservation. We were in touch with the hotel throughout the process, and were told we'd get a credit for the night. Once onsite, they said it would be taken care of on settling the bill. And after we left, the tune changed to "we will not be able to issue a credit". I find this to be a really bad sign of hospitality due to the remoteness of the location and not having an ability to get there with inclement weather. The fact that they delayed telling us this until we left soured the trip for me, and left me with an overall negative impression.

Pros:
-Turn down service brings a pitcher of water every night
-Great water pressure in the bathroom
-Staff always greets you as you enter and leave
-The food at the restaurant is great (Reservations required)

Cons:
-Balcony is unusable - tons of mosquitoes, and they don't provide any candles or anything to help mitigate that
-Tons of flies in the restaurant during dinner time
-Breakfast service never started on time (30 mins - 1 hour later than stated time)
-Drinks are pricey, and very weak

Everything about the Rock House is wonderful but the best thing about the Rock House is the staff. They felt like family. They knew us by name and they were so friendly and constantly working on keeping the place clean and nice. The Restaurant was wonderful too. Our server Matt was so friendly. We cannot wait to return.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful property in the heart of Dunmore. The staff are exceptional! Looking forward to our next visit!

Excellent service at this property!

I returned for another bone fishing trip to Harbour Island and stayed at the Rock House again. Henry and his team never disappoint. Their hospitality is always first rate. They cannot do enough to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. They are outstanding hosts, every person there. I completely enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning next year. Thank you, Henry, and the whole staff at the Rock House.

Great hospitality. We used to come as a couple before having kids and now we brought our two sons (new owners now allow kids) and we all enjoyed the hospitality. It's a short golf cart ride from the beach and you have great views from the lobby of the harbor.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rock House. I’ve been trying to get reservations for a while and was not disappointed. We had a very large suite with a big patio overlooked the bay and nightly sunsets. Their beach was a short cart ride away and everything we needed was provided at the site. The best part of our stay was the staff, especially Romanada. She was so helpful with information about the Island. It was our first time to visit Harbour Island and we plan to return to the Rock House

We loved our stay at The Rock House. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Hotel is lovely and location is great! Within walking distance to shops, restaurants and marinas. Just a short drive in golf cart or walk to Pink Sands Beach. Hotel has designated area at Pink Sands Beach for guests with lounge chairs and umbrellas. There is an attendant at the beach ready to take your order of drinks/food and you can conveniently charge your order to your room.

Dinner at the hotel was delicious and Saturday evenings at the courtyard they have live music.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay, would recommend The Rock House to friends and look forward to returning.

Rock House has fantastic service, wonderful location and excellent food in a magical setting. Great sunsets and easy to walk to town and beaches. Romanda at the front desk makes the stay even more enjoyable.
