Literally the only thing going for me was the air-conditioni in the room that worked.
Pros:

A functional airconditioning in a very hot and humid environment.

Cons:

The fact that I had to pay a three US Dollar for a chocolate that I did not had. The fridge in the room was not working, thus everything inside was warm and definitely not consumable at all.

Extraordinarily quirky hotel
Pros:

A little like being caught in a 1980s video game. Impenetrable strange. If I can load a photo, you will judge for yourself from the most eccentric and unaware mission statement in corporate history.
First the good, all the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. A special mention for Hadija, who ran the breakfast operation with ultimate friendly professionalism. Arguably the best brand statement of them all!
The location is impeccable for visiting the museum and famous markets, although it's spookily quiet at night, being the business centre.
The food in the upstairs restaurant has a surprisingly home-cooked flavour, a nice surprise late at night.
As for the quirks? Where would you start? X-ray machines in the foyers, of which there were two. One lobby contained a football table and a cascade (yep) the other gave access to the offices which occupy all the lower floors. An armed guard was stationed outside last night with an automatic rifle. We felt very safe in Dar up to then!
My room had no hot water for two days, and smelled of both damp and cigarettes.
Even the control buttons in the lift are odd. Some features, like the stained glass windows (yep) are delightful. There was SO MUCH food, of such variety, at breakfast it was overwhelming, and enough to feed 20x the actual number of guests.
A very quirky place, highly suitable for a short business stay in town.

Pros:

Le rapport qualité est impeccable. Le personnel très serviable.
L'hôtel nous a offert un cake à l'occasion de notre anniversaire de mariage et le personnel du restaurant nous a chanté un chant d’aurevoir à la veille de notre départ.
L'hôtel est très flexible et accueillant et l'emplacement est agréable.
