Vriendelijk personeel.
- keiharde matrassen.
Bread and butter.
Very suitable.
This was perfect for my sister and I. It is off the beaten path, so out of the tourist area but, still easily accessible. The staff was great helping us get our lost luggage. Great food in the restaurant. The room suited us very well.
Maybe a little more cream and sugar in the room to go with the lovely tea provided.
Bella struttura e la posizione permette di arrivare in centro anche a piedi
Un imprevisto con la card ma risolto rapidamente. I servizi di accoglienza in camera molto scarni.
Nothing
Heat ran constantly making us sick to even ge in the room. Cook refused to serve us.
Confortável
Muito barulho que se ouve dos quartos ao lado. O quarto não tem isolamento de som.
La buena onda del personal siempre predispuestos a ayudar.
Location
Reception
Very poor English.
No information given about restaurant times or breakfast the next morning.
Room.
Shelf in bathroom broken,
Handle of shower door loose.
The bed stuck right beside the radiator. Have to walk sideways to get into the bed and if radiator is on which it was you will burn the legs
Restaurant.
First impression was all the tables looked dirty but they were all Mary ( surely a tin of polish would make it look good) passed 4 tables until I realised they all look the same.
Fish and chips (17euro) was poor .believe fish was frozen and not fresh. and very small piece just like from a package of frozen fish. Chef kept looking out from kitchen at us sitting at the table .
Scampi and chips (18euro) . Big bowl of scampi but when was full of batter. Seems the chef cut 1 scampi into 4 pieces then covered with batter to make the bowl full. Salad as the menu bsays was a handful of rocket on the plate. ( no salad)
An American elderly couple arrived for food at 8.40pm and was told the kitchen was closed though it was suppose to close at 9pm.
The chef then came from kitchen at 9.15pm and sat at the bar having a pint of beer laughing with the bartender with the American couple looking on having a coke .
Many people also came into the bar complaining that there was no one at reception to deal with their issues.
Recomandation
Pay the extra for a hotel.
The woman who greeted us at reception was pleasant. The outside of the hotel looks lovely and well maintained.
The room was clean.
I personally liked the shower, when i used it on the Friday morning it was nice and hot and powerful.
There were plenty of towels in the bathroom
When we checked in and got to our room (room 28) we noticed straight away that the double bed in the room was so uncomfortable and hard.
I did go down to reception to see if we could get another room or a more comfortable mattress or even a mattress topper but as the hotel was sold out and the housekeeping had left for the day there was nothing that could be done.
We did check in early, around 1pm and i was surprised that everyone else had already also been checked in so there was no chance of switching rooms either.
The double bed was honestly like sleeping on a rock. I have Sciatica and i genuinely did consider looking elsewhere for the 2 nights. If everywhere else wasn't also full or way outside of our budget, i probably would have.
Room 28 felt and looked very dated
In the room itself here are the things that didn't work:
The tiny tv on the wall that was only a little bit bigger than my Kindle..... No signal on all channels.
Hotel room phone didn't work, no dial tone.
Hair dryer on the wall didn't work (spare hair dryer was in the wardrobe but i didn't find this til we were checking out of the room
Light above the dressing table didn't work.
There were no toiletries in the bathroom apart from toilet roll.
The shower didn't drain properly so when I used it...I was so glad that the shower doors had a decent seal because otherwise the water would have spilled over and out.
When my boyfriend went to use the shower on the Friday night it was cold and had a lack of pressure. He likened it to as if someone else had turned on a cold tap elsewhere which removed all pressure and caused the shower to be freezing cold.
Also on the Friday night there was a wedding being held in the hotel downstairs and we could hear the music from our room above. We ended up going out for a few hours.
Room appeared to be freshly decorated and painted and bed was comfy. I liked the giant bathroom too it was nearly the size of the bedroom! I'll be back!
It's Dublin and an old building so it definitely was a bit dampish but that wouldn't bother me. The room was small but not a problem for me either.

Smallest of room heat ran continually. Bedsides were hard. Shower stall was made for tiny people
