Pros:

The staff were friendly and polite.

Cons:

There was an issue with hot water for the shower although you could have a bath.
We bought the full Irish breakfast and it was overcooked and dried out.

Just what the Doctor ordered
Pros:

We arrived around 4pm .There was a lovely warm feeling within the Bar and Reception. The staff greeted us and check in was the most swift I've ever experienced.
Our room was very tastefully designed and a bigger than normal .Spotless clean bathrooms was beautiful not a thing out of place.
Very large open wardrobe area Plenty of hangers.Tea making facilities went down a treat after coming in from the Rain .The Double and Single beds were absolutely amazing the best nights sleep ever and the pillows were fabulous the heat was on which we truly appreciate can't wait to go back Roll on July 2026.we also ate there before we headed out to see Onior Donegal modern folk Group playing in the town .fabulous food and very reasonably priced. Breakfast this morning 24th January omg the staff were so efficient nothing was a problem and the selection of food was brilliant .
Keep doing what all of you are doing brilliant your all a great team .Many thank.

The Kilford Arms (Kilkenny restaurant): Tasty Food
Pros:

The Kilford Arms has tasty food. I ate: salmon with hollandaise sauce, mashed potatoes, & veggies (broccoli and cauliflower), chicken wings (comes with French fries and a side salad), and a fruit scone (“fruit scone” actually means a scone with raisins in it). My waiter was nice and let me try a Vegetable Cream Soup after saying I hadn’t had one before.

One thing to be aware of service wise: the waiters were always accommodating and food came out quickly, but you have to ask for things (like to refill a drink or for the check even though it was a weekday and the restaurant was empty).

The decor was nice inside the restaurant- wooden. I didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was a lot less expensive than Dublin and the U.S.

I recommend this restaurant and would go back. I would give 5/5 stars if service was impeccable, but this restaurant’s food was very good. I only give 5 stars if you “have” to go to this restaurant while you’re visiting this area because it’s that unique. I was in this area visiting the Kilkenny Castle. There’s cool caves and churches to check out too!

Pros:

We liked the location close to the town, the bed was comfortable .The food was good.

Cons:

The room was pretty basic. We had no tea or coffee in our room ,although we had a kettle and cups so we thought it might be an oversight but it was repeated on day two we also found our door wasn't closed properly and we had been away all day when we reported it to reception they said they would check the camera, nice to know they didn't take our word for it.
