location
The first room we got was 201—we were shocked when we saw it. It was hard to see because the door didn't open all the way—the bed was so close to the front door that it couldn't be opened. The room was the size of two elevator cars. And there were cigarette ash on the chair.
We were 'upgraded' to room 301, on the top floor. The roof gets incredibly hot from the sun, and the room was a nightmare. The hotel rooms completely lack safes, refrigerators, air conditioning, ice, and service. Housekeeping was poor, and the room design was terrible—for example, imagine an arched window and simple curtains. Can you imagine what that looks like? But that's nothing compared to the fact that the shower is attached to the wall and has some kind of outdated water-activation mechanism? The water in the shower was either hot or cold, making it impossible to shower. The bathroom floor was covered in some kind of sticky substance.
The room odour is masked by some kind of chemical sprayed on the carpet, and the combination of these odours in the stuffy air is simply disgusting!
But when I asked to heat up my son's food in the microwave, they refused! "It's against the hotel rules...!"
What rules?? This hotel needs to be torn down and a new, modern one built.
Is this hotel really part of the Carlton Hotels & Suites chain, or is it some kind of scam?
I could write more, but I'm too lazy.
Why are these reviews so long?
That's why no one fills them out.
Not much!
Everything hotel was very very basic...window didn't close ...bathroom is so so outdated...parts of the walls and skirting boards were flaking of you would have just found bits on the floor ..very little plugs ..breakfast was tasteless...I could go on and on...all Windows need a clean...I understand it's near the sea so it's hard to keep them clean ...but there was years of birds dirt everywhere...awful awful value for money ...and they take 50 pounds as soon as you arrive have left 6 hours still no money back!!!
We paid 238 pounds for 2 nights!!
We stayed here while visiting the Lytham festival. It was an ideal location with a short walk to the bus to Lytham, and car parking for £7.50 for the day. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was great. Tea and coffee facilities provided in the room.
The receptionist wasn't very friendly and didn't tell us our room number or explain how to get to it beyond "through the door".
Good location and close to a tram and bus stop which we used frequently. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was nicely cooked and had good choices. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The shower could be updated.
Location a little out of town
Tiny room with sloping ceiling
