The Torrance Hotel

It’s a lovely hotel. Nice restaurant/bar area. Breakfast was great.

Breakfast was good but the location was not as I thought was a we bit out of the way but we were really happy with the hotel was a nice place to stay

Clean and very nice

I recently held my wedding at the Torrance Hotel. The whole process was flawless from start to finish. Their event department never missed a thing. Family members stayed the night of the wedding and they also commented how great the hotel was. Their honeymoon suite is a dream. The breakfast the next day was to order rather than a buffet which my guests appreciated.

Lovely hotel and great location. Train station nearby. Hotel is spotless throughout including the bar toilets. Staff are great. Ewan the barman is a great guy very pleasant and hard working even under pressure. Credit to the company

We usually just go to the restaurant which is normally very good. On this occasion we stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding there (which was very well run). We must have been given the smallest room in the hotel (room 4) which was very cramped with very little room to manoeuvre around the bed. There is an adjoining door to the next room which was not sound-proofed and you could hear the neighbouring guests. The tap in the bathroom squirted water right on to me and not into the basin. Breakfast was ok but several things were missing that were advertised on the menu (especially on the continental buffet selection).

We had our wedding at the Torrance and the experience we had was unbelievable. From the minute we met Rebecca, we felt supported and like there was nothing we couldn’t ask. Rebecca couldn’t do enough to help us plan and made recommendations and kept in touch regularly and made several dietary accommodations for guests who had allergies/intolerances. The staff on the day were absolutely amazing and took care of our guests and the room looked absolutely stunning when set up. Our guests found it absolutely beautiful and that it was a perfect venue and very elegant. The food is unbelievable both for the dinner and the buffet and the master of ceremonies, Dominic, is like nobody we’ve ever seen before, polite and humorous but amazingly professional throughout and happy to answer any questions or give advice and spends time talking to the guests too. Don’t even get us started on the honeymoon suits because that’s something you need to experience yourself! Honestly - couldn’t recommend enough, email in and get a consult with Rebecca for smooth and stress free wedding planning that’s detailed and all about you as a couple. Can’t recommend enough 🥰

We recently stayed in the Stuart Suite and had such a great experience. The room was absolutely gorgeous and spotless, couldn’t fault it at all. The cocktails in the mini fridge were a really nice touch, and the spa bath was amazing. We loved all the facilities; it felt really luxurious.

We also had cocktails and dinner in the restaurant, which were both excellent. The bar area was especially cozy and welcoming, loved the fire. All the staff we met were so friendly, helpful, and polite, it really made the stay.

Just a couple of small things to mention - early in the morning we could hear staff talking quite loudly outside our door, which woke us up. Also, the “mind your head” sign by the stairs down to the bed blends in with the wall, so it’s easy to miss, we both bumped our heads a few times! Maybe making the sign a different colour would help.

Overall though, these are really minor points. It’s a beautiful hotel and we’ll definitely be back, hopefully to try a different room next time. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Worst afternoon Tea I’ve ever had the sandwiches were wafer thin and the fillings were disgusting the bread was hard we paid £102 for 4 people and left within an hour I would not recommend this place to anyone

visited the resturant and forgot to key in my car details because it was a winters day and i was seated as soon as I went in. and got a parking fine 10 weeks later .They have asked for a photo of the letter ( which i have destroyed ) (i have given them all the reference numbers) and they want copy of proof of purchase......Fortunately i had vouchers that (hopefully can be traced) as i dont keep receipts for lunch. Emailed all the details I had......Not interested. Want pictures ....details are not enough. They cant be bothered to look through their records (which its all computerised so wouldnt take much) want me to phone their head office, get a copy of the voucher. and take a picture and sent it to them. Theyve taken more time to send me pictures of their notices
