Absolute Worst Experience
Pros:

Drove 15 hours from Texas to stay here and arrived at check-in time only to find people in hazmat suits and the building completely shut down due to a fire. At no point were we notified this had happened. In fact, we received a confirmation email the night before as if everything was completely normal.

Being left without a place to stay three states away after a 15-hour drive is beyond unacceptable. The lack of communication is honestly shocking. A simple email, call, or cancellation notice could have prevented us from showing up to a closed building with nowhere to go.

If a property is literally shut down, notifying your guests should be the bare minimum.

5 star experience always!
Pros:

This is my partner and I’s favorite place to stay when we come to Estes park. The hotel itself is old and not everything is the neatest or cleanest, but their staff is always so incredibly friendly and accommodating and they have a 24 hr game room and an indoor pool for when you’re here in the winter months, and free unique breakfast! Any of the problems we had were not enough to justify less than 4 stars, especially for the price.

Great spot to host an event!
Pros:

We had a great experience staying at the Expedition Lodge for Jam Fest West. Our room had a beautiful walk out with great views of the mountains. Location is perfect and close to downtown and Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff are friendly and always there to lend a hand. Special shout-out to Javeia and Tim for their warm hospitality. We will definitely stay again!

Pros:

The scenery and location, weather and town vibes, free breakfast.

Cons:

The room was incredibly dirty, and the front desk didn’t bother to take my requests about cleaning seriously that I had to directly ask the housekeeper, even after which we see that the bedsheets were just refolded and not changed. The laundry is in the arcade and not in a separate room (baffling choice) and the air conditioning is terrible if you need a good night sleep because it has a strong wind at the lowest fan setting. Sometimes I see bedsheets piled up near the stairs of the corridor overnight.
