Couple retreat
Pros:

Everything on this couple retreat was excellent and done professionally. Only complaint was loud noises on the first floor . Strongly recommend staying on the third floor if possible. Otherwise a very nice and comfortable stay!

Delightful and serene
Pros:

If you haven’t been to Mammoth in November, go. It’s worth the trip. It’s quiet, calm and relaxing. The staff is a joy this time of year. Grab a game, a drink and listen to music in the historic Map Room.

Very nice facility, but overpriced.
Pros:

The facility is very nicely kept but is somewhat expensive. Rooms are very nice, not small. The restaurant is overpriced, and the food selection is limited. There are no coffee pots in the rooms now, in the past there were but now you get coffee in "tea" bags. You STEEP the little bags in warm water. I tried it once, absolute failure. I travel to Yellowstone every year, not sure I'll try Mammoth again.

Wonderful stay; beautiful room
Pros:

Very nice stay in Yellowstone National Park. The room was beautiful and comfortable, with comfortable beds, microwave, hot pot, mini fridge, and gorgeous views. The was the only place in the park we were able to connect to WiFi which made it nice for checking in with family watching our children back home. From our room, we could watch elk wander across property. Very nice stay!

Cabins were too small, but very historical
Pros:

My family and I stayed in the cabins for 2 nights while visiting mammoth springs. The cabins were too small, and only had 1 or 2 outlets, but we found out they’re historical, and I respect and admire the hotel and cabins’ history.
The grounds are amazing, and we enjoyed walking around them, eating in the dining room, going to the gift shop and museum, as well as the close proximity to the springs.
The 1st night we were there, it snowed, so we woke up to a winter wonderland, which was a treat, since we are from Texas and don’t see snow often. There were elk there too, right outside our cabins and on the grounds.
I enjoyed it here, just wished the cabins were bigger, had a coffee maker in the room, and
breakfast was less expensive. It was $19 per person, plus tip for the waitstaff.
Not sure about the hotel amenities, since we stayed in the cabins.

Nice stay in a frontier cabin with bathroom
Pros:

We stayed 3 nights in a frontier cabin with bathroom and were very happy with our choice.

The bathroom was small but adequate, and the room was comfortable and well heated.

There was no coffee maker or microwave in the cabin but there was a barista at the hotel every morning. There is also no wifi in the cabins, but there is at the hotel so you can use the wifi whilst having your morning coffee at the hotel. Some families were having barbecues or picnics outside their cabins for dinner. We ate dinner in the dining room and the food was great (although be sure to get there early as there was usually a queue for dinner).

Wild elk move around the cabins so you do feel like you are in the wilderness.

If I were to return to Mammoth I would choose to stay in a frontier cabin again.

Pros:

We stayed here to be in the park. It was nice but cabin was a lil small for our family of 4. Nice to have dining hall; they do not accept reservations but we got a table pretty quickly. Super cool to see animals outside our cabins at night or in the morning.

Lovely historic area and hotel
Pros:

A Xanterra Autumn package brought me here, although I had heard of the hotel and booked several times on other occasions and had to cancel or be cancelled. Glad to finally indulge in a bit of mountain history! Lovely scenic area!

Pros:

We stayed here because we thought there would be hot springs to soak in and there are no hot springs even though it’s in the name…. The closest ones are in Gardiner near the north entrance. The cabins were very basic.

Pros:

The park was beautiful, staff kind and responsive, room very clean and big shower in the hotel room. A microwave, refrigerator and water kettle were nice to have. No coffee maker, but coffee was a pour-on, then dunk coffee in a bag with string (like tea). No included breakfast but restaurant nearby. Beds were comfortable and daily housekeeping only by request.

an acceptable option within the park
Pros:

It's an acceptable option, but it has some shortcomings: the cabins are very basic, and the room isn't cleaned daily. The restaurant is very simple, and there's only one dinner option, as the second restaurant closes very early. They don't accept reservations, and you have to wait a long time during peak hours. The lobby bar isn't open every day. Overall, it's expensive for the service it offers, but it's well located within the park.

Wildlife at your doorstep
Pros:

Cute and comfortable cabins. An elk walked right past us as we enjoyed a beverage on the porch. The dining room was elegant and affordable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Disappointing stay (our 5th or 6th stay there)
Pros:

A Destination Wedding sucked up resources and had loud party. The only good thing is proximity to Lamar Valley. Will stay in Gardner next yrip.

Pleasant stay
Pros:

We stayed three nights in a cabin at the Mammoth Hot Springs hotel. The cabin was spacious and clean but could use some modernization. There is daily cleaning, but it was not efficient, so once we had to organize our own bath towels. Is this a big deal? No, but when you return to your cabin around 5:30 pm, you expect the cleaning to be done so you can shower undisturbed. What was truly beautiful was that every evening a bull elk, bugling, came down the hill behind our cabin with his harem to graze on the lush grass fields around the hotel, former Fort Yellowstone (currently being restored), and between the cabins. A walk along the houses of the former Fort is highly recommended (and don’t forget to take the National Park Service description for more background information).
The hotel is a perfect base to visit the nearby terraces and the Lamar Valley for wildlife spotting. If you have the chance, dine and have breakfast here (buffet and à la carte options). Both were excellent: pleasant service and tasty food.
