The Island House

I stayed at the Island House for my best friends birthday trip. It was about 17 of us and the property was perfect for all aspects. We enjoyed the pool, the onsite movie theater, the restaurants and the gym. The staff: Kera, Tamara, Jarvis, Roshado were all so accommodating and wonderful. I’ll be back!!

Always love the island house, staff charming but think it’s now need a little maintenance to keep it to its high standard we know it for!!

My room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly, pleasant helpful and welcoming. The hotel offered a variety of restaurants for dining; my favorite was Yellowbell.

I enjoyed my stay here because it provided a calm and laid back environment. I was able to rest and relax and have fun.

My only concern was the description of the room, The Marina View Room, which did not offer a view of the Marina. The Manager advised this was the actual name for the 2nd floor rooms and not rooms that allow you to see the Marina.They are working on changing that description on their website because it is very misleading.

However, overall I would say it is a very nice and inviting hotel where the staff is attentive to your needs. I would recommend it for your next vacation.

Island House Spa

I felt emotionally drained and had pain and limitation in my right hip when I came into see Lynn Lowe, the master therapist at the island house. She combined various techniques as she worked on me, from stretching to massage and tools she used and all were infused with her presence and passion for her work. Her work is Magic, like nothing I’ve ever experienced - really, it’s her expression of a therapeutic art that she’s clearly gifted in.
I was in such need of focused self care and I left feeling lighter, happpier and my pain was gone. Needless to say, I’m grateful! I needed every bit of that extended treatment and I look forward to seeing you again!

I must say the ambiance was very soothing and their employees were quite engaging(our server in particular). My family and I dined at the restaurant by the pool. We enjoyed our food while relaxing at the poolside. Our server Dom in particular made the experience for us. His engagement with my family made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. The food was also amazing I highly recommend going !

My wife and i stayed at the Island House for our 20th anniversary. While it wasn't close to a lot of the stuff we wanted to do, we don't regret staying there at all. The staff were exellent and the resort was perfect.

First time here and what a place !
We were not expected such a beautiful hotel and pool.
This is like a dream. Quiet place, not crowded at all.
This is a perfect place for anyone looking for a nice and quiet place in a more than beautiful spot

Went to Yellow Bell restaurant with my friends and not only was the food amazing but our server Dom/Tyler was exceptional. Not only did he make us feel welcome but he was continuously checking on us to make sure that everything was okay. Defintely coming back!

We first discovered The Island House during Covid and stayed for four unforgettable weeks. The staff and management made everyone feel completely at home during a challenging time.

I just returned (April 2025) and had a 90-minute massage with the incredible Lynn Lowe. It was far more than a massage—her energy was healing, spiritual, and deeply restorative. My aches and pains vanished.

If you’re lucky enough to book a session with Lynn, you’ll leave wondering: Has she ever experienced the kind of magic she gives to others? I never have—this was truly one of a kind.

From the friendliness of the staff to the beautiful grounds, the Island House did not disappoint. Will definitely return.

enjoyed our stay at the island house! Especially after we spent a few days later in the week at Atlantis. Opposite ends of the spectrum. Peace and quiet, friendly service, tranquility at the island house versus loud, crowded, and rude at Atlantis.
I individually reviewed the restaurants we ate at. Had a great experience at Mogano and Yellowbell, and an OK experience at Shima.
Bamford spa was nice, but for that type of resort could stand to have some upgrades such as robes and showering beforehand. We did a couples massage. My wife’s was excellent. Mine was just OK.
Some shout outs to staff that made a difference in our stay, gotta love Roshado, one of the bartender at yellow Bell… also Mona Lisa, our waitress atMogano. Additionally, Freddie at the beach took great care of us and the shuttle driver was excellent as well.

Having experienced other Caribbean islands & researched hotels in Nassau, we were thoroughly looking forward to this trip.

Unfortunately, it did not get off to the best start with our room not being available and this very much being glossed over at check in. This was the theme of the holiday, where there was a complete lack of interest in the hotel guests and feeling like you had to keep asking questions to get any information (and as first timers on the island trying to find out where to go, this would have been helpful - the hotel WiFi & TikTok to the rescue!)

The hotel taxi’s were not any better, struggling to even give a basic “hello” when getting in the vehicle and probably best not to get started on the cost of them - alongside everything else (be prepared to spend when you come to Nassau because nothing is “cheap!!”)

The hotel is also situated under the final approach to the airport, so expect planes every 5-15 minutes.

The room and particularly the bathroom were lovely and definitely experienced some great nights sleep. Shima was also a highlight.

Overall, I can’t say I would recommend this hotel or that I would return to Nassau. If you want a truly Caribbean experience try some of the smaller islands and give this one a miss - your bank balance will definitely thank you!!

Disappointing. On arrival no room available in our grade so had to move the next morning and unpack. The room was spacious with very comfortable beds and a large bathroom. Planes constantly landing at Nassau airport made it very noisy from 7am until late into the evening. The highlight of the trip was a boat trip from Nassau to visit pigs on an island, turtles and snorkelling off the boat. We will not be returning!!

Quiet, away from most things

We heard nice things about this hotel and it was quite lovely. The bar has an outside deck and the service is good. My only issue is that I ordered beef tacos and the beef was very chewy so alerted the waiter expecting him to offer me something else, he just looked at me, surprised and turned away
For such a high-end hotel was surprised that I wasn’t offered something else since I was hungry so after $75 of “bits” I left ravenous… poor first impression and cannot recommend.

My husband and I ate lunch at Yellow Bell a niche restaurant at Island House. Our server CJ was very attentive and went beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience. The food, service and environment is top tier! Excellent service CJ!
I would absolutely recommend this place!

Convenient for the airport. Rooms were nice and facilities ( pool and gym).
However, the gym air con was not on high enough and therefore too hot, there was no water in the gym in the morning, there were no towels in the pool showers and generally the service to get drinks outside was slow.
