Wonderful staff and great location
Pros:

The staff is friendly and attentive. The breakfasts are buffet-style with a nice variety of foods. Wonderful cappuccinos for free all day long. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby

Better than backpackers
Pros:

Rooms have western toilet and shower and toilet paper and rooms are clean. Restaurant food is very simple and vegetarian and not expensive. Internet connection is erratic, to say the least. The hotel is not in the centre of the city, so a taxi or 45 minute walk is needed.

A home away from home
Pros:

The staff are incredibly helpful, nice, polite...they make you feel instantly at home. It's a spacious hotel off the main strip so quiet when you need it, but only a few steps away from the main street where you can easily find restaurants, bars, The Garden of Dreams, shopping etc. To top it all off, they offer free purified water, coffee and Nepali tea all day.

Friendly, great coffee and quiet location
Pros:

Located in the Thamel tourist area the hitek is on a quiet street. The rooms are clean and basic...some have 3 single beds, some have a double and single, and some a double/queen bed. Mattresses are hard as in many Asian beds; there are extra blankets in the room and an electric wall heater. The bath was a bit odd with the shower right in bathroom with a shower curtain that I had to back into in order to get under the showerhead. But there was hot water 24 hours a day with good pressure. Breakfast was excellent with hot buffet and granola, yogurt and fruit. The best was the coffee which is made on demand...espresso, latte or black. Staff were very helpful in all areas from front desk to housekeeping. I would definitely stay again. Small tour groups seem to be a staple of the clientele.

Pros:

Stayed at beginning and end of a trek. Hotel is comfortable and staff helpful. Location in Thamel district very convenient. Airport pick up service was great when we first arrived tired and disorientated after long flights. Good hot showers.

Pros:

Great and friendly staff and very helpful. The Hotel is located down some side streets but in the General Thamel district so well located. The larger rooms are better fitted than the cheaper rooms and offer more comfortable beds.
