No breakfast
The noise from the air conditioning outside the window
The location was good in central Oxford.
There was a heatwave outside and there was no functional air conditioning system. :-/
The bed could be better, but it is by no means uncomfortable.
Clean and friendly staff
Nothing
Location brilliant
Nothing about this property is nice or likeable.
The damp smell as you entered was enough to walk back out the door.
The carpet was disgusting in our room the paint on the skirting boards hanging off.
No air con.
Photos are a scam and aren't anything like the real rooms
We left 15mins after checking in. The reception didn't even acknowledge we weren't happy and instantly checked out. Location was great if you don't want to sleep and sweat all night.
The hotel's drawback remains, e.g no lift, potential noise, but what impressed was that the hotel tried hard. I was given a room on the first floor rather than the top floor. The room now has double glazing so proximity to the street is not a problem. The fan and the biscuits are nice touches. The location is perfect, coach station less than 5 minutes and the train station less than 10 minutes.
Only lication
Smell in carpet all around. Very bad bed and mattress.
Great Location, so close to everything. They give you a key for the front door. Good water pressure in the shower. You can just put your keys in a box when you leave.
Lights everywhere! One on the TV, the exit light etc so it's hard to sleep. I had a courtyard room which was quiet but the noise from reception was loud. Especially when the phone rang and the man was talking loudly. It's also got that feeling of grime like you get in a shared house. But for the price and the location it was well worth it!
Great convenient location
Noisy outside, cramped room, poor quality bed linen, tatty decor
Tidy and well equipped, handy to have a hair dryer as well as a fan. Powerful shower
Nothing it was an alright hotel for a couple of nights
Perfect location; great 'value for money'. All expected amenities for standard hotel, including some biscuits along with the tea/coffee.
There was no information of how to escape from upper rooms in fire, if the main staircase is blocked?
Booked the hotel due to it's location which was it's best feature
One of our party paid full price as a single occupant in a double room, but was refused a throw blanket by staff - despite the fact that my room occupied by two guests was provided with one as standard. She was told she wasn't entitled to one because she was sleeping alone!
I find this policy baffling, The number of people occupying a room should have no bearing on whether a guest deserves basic comfort items. This felt dismissive and frankly unfair and is exactly the kind of small but avoidable interaction that leaves a lasting negative impression.
The wardrobe which had a hanging bar was bereft of clothes hanger! this would be the least we would expect from a hotel although we were once again informed that they could not provide them!
There was a workman on the flat roof outside our rooms late at night. There was no courtesy note to inform us of his presence it was a bit alarming to have a bright torch shine into the room late at night and see a man within meters of our room.
The main entrance door was accessed by buzzer or key but we often found it left open at various times day and night which was a shock and is a huge security risk given it's central location.
There is no lift and and reception is not on the ground floor you need to carry your bags up a narrow winding stairway.
The rooms were far too small you could hardly move around the bed
The light switches were back to front the nearest switch to the door turned the bathroom light on instead of the main room light very annoying and just sloppy
Central location, easy access to shopping, restaurants, and transportation. The staff was always welcoming, very helpful, and professional. The room was clean and comfortable.
Sometimes it can be noisy.
Fantastic central location, very clean, friendly staff, comfy bed.
