Village on the Beach

Arrived and they were not expecting me, although I had emailed and called them. owner was not in town, didn't check in but was told I could stay in a room until owner returned, maybe tomorrow. room was small no windows, no towels, no toilet paper and on that first evening there was no water. no TV, no internet, no free breakfast. only thing that was as advertised was the air-conditioning. I moved out at noon on the second day to a real hotel. never did see owner or any staff. only locals trying to sell local girls.

the people there are so nice and friendly. I will go back again

Right in the beach. Located in a bad neighborhood and had a difficult time finding the place bc I could not believe Expedia even had this motel listed. Bed took up the entire room, ni lamp, tv didnt work. Bed sheet didnt fit the bed, comforter was torn as well ad the shams. Ni pillows and I didnt feel comfortable having either one touch my face. So my arm was my pillow. Paid for 4 nights, stayed one. Get what you paid for.

Terrible service and terrible room

The task o f even FINDING this hotel was miserable. We drove around and around for over an hour. The phone number on their webpage is disconnected. No way to see the tiny sign in what look like a bar on front street. You have to walk through to the back to get to the hotel which had blaring music on in restaurant. Was not sure how to even maneuver check in as we could not leave our bags in the car in this awful area. Ultimately decided to forget the non refundable room payment and find a nicer hotel. I live in Costa Rica. Not afraid of traveling and local environments but also saavy enough to know when an area is sketchy.

Do you really do not know that, this hotel do not exist, How can you ask these questions, you should check the location before you listen them online.

Old hotel with no phone to confirm reservation. No sign out front, very difficult to find. Cracked tiles, holes in walls, exposed electrical wiring, lost power every night, they ran a generator. Half-way working air conditioner that leaked water down the wall, puddling on the floor. Bars on windows, my door had 4 locks. Security fence locked at night w a guard sleeping in lobby. However, staff exellent. Kept me safe. Drove me to airport. And the beach was right there.

I was supposed to have a beach view room - first night it was not available so had to sleep elsewhere & move the next day. Airport shuttle was supposed to be available and then I had to pay $25. While the employees were VERY nice, the hotel was just average.

Pas content du tout de cet hôtel nous avions réservé une chambre avec balcon on nous l'a pas donné on nous a donné une chambre avec des grilles a la fenetre.l'entrée de la chambre est composé d une grande alcôve vitrée qui donne sur la réception on n'a pas été d'accord pour loger là-dedans ils nous ont mis un rideau. Pour le petit-déjeuner on nous a proposé Café deux toasts avec de l'huile et basta tout le reste était payant. Quant à la plage privée ce n'est pas du tout ce qu'on pense cette plage privée se compose de deux matelas et de table posé sur le sable où tout le monde accès comme toute la plage de Boca Chica qui est publique.
Je ne recommande pas du tout cet.hôtel. le jour de notre départ nous avions besoin d'un taxi ils nous ont demandé notre téléphone personnel pour l'appeler c'est quand même pas normal. Le wifi ne marche pas dans la chambre

I called on feb 17 to cancel the Hotel. 1.number not working. 2. Extremely hard to find no sign. 3.dirty and smelly. 4.no receptionist. 5. I review the room and it did not have a kinsize bed it was a queen. Kitchen no utensils. Room was musty smelly like and refrigerator was off and stinky. Walked around 5 or 6 blocks in a street that i felt unsafe to finally find it. When I saw all that. I decided not to check in. I want my money back. No one should go through an unpleasant experience like that. Please remove that hotel of your site.

website stated that the room we requested included one way shuttle from airport to hotel. and later owner said that was not included. we reserved a specific room and got another room without the ocean view we paid for. The owner told us that the previous guest had decided to stay two extra nights, which were the nights we had reserved. Although owner gave us a free drink and did not charge us the extra cleaning fee, and apologized for the inconvenience, he did not give us a discount for giving us a different room of much lesser quality. it was not a pretty

Perfecto el ambiente

The pillows had stains on them and they also looked moldy. There was no running water at night. The water was there in the morning but, it was just cold water. There was a lot of noise outside of the room window very early in the morning. It looks like that is a spot where people go in the morning. I had very little sleep. I had rented the room for 2 night but ended up staying just one night because of the conditions. The only good thing about this hotel was the location.

I loved this place because is a hotel right by the beach. I had the room with the balcony beach view. Room service available. The staff is very welcoming. They are in the process of renovation. Everyday I saw new things getting done to the restaurant below. The food was excellent.

I had hard time locating the place . There was no sign and the entrance was through a restaurant.I stayed there only 2 nights. The first day the air condition was not working properly but the owners /staff made it work manually set at 24 deg. C. It was not cold enough but was comfortable when you compares the outside. The water pressure was not good but I think it is a common problem in all small hotels in Boca Chica.

The second day evening the power was going in and out and finally when it came back I didn't have A/C or water in the room!!! The staff was kind enough to have 2 buckets of water in my room.

Not a couple's vacation spot but if it's just you and your friends and you care least about the condition of your room then this will do. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful, which is the hotel's selling point. The food is also very good and the prices are reasonable. They is nearby dancing and a long stretch of beach along with some stores for sourvenir shopping. Wi-fi is also good and air conditioning worked. The only downside is the rooms really need to be updated.

Amazing people & place! Let me first say don't travel during hurricane season! Go there during winter months only. We loved the entire staff (Rasta, Surge, Wolford, Crosby, Joshua, Elbita and ect...)and the humbleness of the location. The food was fresh and each of the 3 chef's catered to your requests.
The hotel sits right on the beach with easy access to clubs, restuarants, supermarket and transportation to the capital.
We truly had a great vacation and wish we could stay longer!!! We definitely will return in the future.

P.S. The only improvements needed are updated Wi-Fi system/ with cable TV/ new windows/plumbing in rooms.

In total I loved my stay at Village at the beach because of the super nice staff and the very nice beach, including the possibility to dine and get drinks directly near the ocean.
Before I ever book that room with a beach view without a balcony again, I would make sure the massive water stains on the ceiling and the walls have been fixed and the toilet will actually flush. The room with beach view and balcony has just been renovated while I was there, I would pick that one if I go back. Other rooms seemed to be in better condition, too.
The transfer from and to the airport worked very well, too. However, each time it took me about a week to get someone on the phone to arrange the transfer with.
But yes, I would go back, for the nice beach, great food and great staff.

My Samsung tablet was stolen out of my room presumably by staff members! Too many poor people/bums hanging around! Don't stay here!

Not what is advertised. Beware. The rooms are not what is depicted on the pictures. Bad neighborhood. I couldn't stay in this establishment one night.
