On check in at 1am (which was communicated in advance), staff who spoke no English insisted I pay up front for all guests (despite a credit card being on file). At the time I made the payment I suspected the amount I was charged was more than my original booking. After trying to explain this it become apparent I would not access my room whiteout payment being made. Later I checked what I was charged and it was more than double the cost of my original booking. When I spoke to reception they struggled to understand my complaint despite providing the original payment receipts. Further to this, upon check out I was presented a bill for the for the cost of my accommodation and asked to pay again. Only after having my local business partner speak to them was a refund provided. I understand there that the reception may not speak English, I do not understand why they charged my double the amount. I specifically stayed at a 'reputable' international hotel to avoid this issue.

Pros:

Convenient location (not sure if you're traveling by metro or bus) and well maintained facilities. There are smoking rooms, and I'm not sure how they're separated from non-smoking. I would the ventilation is 95% efficient. I noticed a hint there and here. It wasn't enough to bother me. I can't speak to breakfast since I didn't use it. Staff were generally quite helpful, providing excellent service--though during check out, one staff was noticeably overwhelmed and service reflected.

Great stay at a great hotel!
Pros:

Another fantastic experience at Hefei Sheraton! This hotel really goes the extra mile to look after their guests- helping arrange an extra room for my wife’s parents even though the person doing the arrangement was herself on holidays. Great stay at a great hotel!

Good hotel , but bad accounting system/department.
Pros:

I like this hotel overall. However, I checked out on 5/24, but the withheld security deposit from my credit card has not been cancelled as of 6/10. I called the hotel for twice already. I am not happy with their accounting department/system.
Also, the room card did not work for elevator frequently. My co-worker in my local office told me that he met the similar problem a couple years ago already. We think the elevator system for room card reader need to be updated.
