I loved the old historical feel of the entire place. They had the best bathroom toiletries for guests. The location was everything.

The staff were exceptional! Everyone made us feel like family. Troy, Chris, John, Jody and Hobby are A # 1! Great location a block off historic Main St. Close to Sturgis, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Spearfish. Rapid City as well. The pizza is the BEST!!! It is a historic building, so do not expect glitz and glamour. It is quaint, quiet and cozy.

Cons:

Only served pizza 4 nights a week. Wed thru Sat.

Pros:

The property enjoys a great location in downtown Deadwood. The desk staff were extremely friendly. The room was small but charming and clean. The bathroom was nice. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

Cons:

The lobby was cluttered and chaotic. We were only in there to check in and check out so it really did not matter. The bed was not the best. It was pretty saggy.

Great surprise
Pros:

This is a quaint and quirky hotel and we loved it. The rooms are spacious and delitefully appointed. No air con but the fans coped well. Free car parking spaces are appointed to you for the duration of your stay. Great location if you need to return to your room. A great lounge to relax in with lots of memorabilia. A lift serves the bedrooms so no stairs to climb. No breakfast but lots of options nearby. The staff and owners are wonderful with time to talk about the history of the hotel. What's not to like.
