The room was serviced and cleaned every second day

Bij aankomst merkte ik dat het resort heel weinig gasten had. Aangekomen bij de kamer was ik eerst blij verrast (zie hierboven bij wat ik wel goed vond. Bij het openen van de terrasdeur viel meteen op dat er condens en vochtige lucht tussen de ruit zat. Dat valt niet weg te poetsen, daar moet gewoon een nieuwe ruit in. Op het gras voor het terras lagen tientallen peuken!! (zie de foto’s). Het was duidelijk dat er niet schoongemaakt was. Dit werd pas na een paar keer klagen weggehaald. Op het terras stond een airco die verroest was (foto). Het hotel oogt oud en heeft een sfeer van vergane glorie. Het ergste moest echter nog komen. Ik bestelde eten op de avond van aankomst (crab stuffed lobster) en heb voedselvergiftiging opgelopen. Vanaf de volgende morgen tot de vroege middag heb ik moeten rennen naar het toilet. Zonde van de ruim €70,- wat een belachelijke prijs is. Bij het bestellen van eten twee dagen later heb ik direct geklaagd na twijfels bij de salade met kip die niet goed rook en niet goed smaakte. Neemt niet weg dat ik daar toch behoorlijk ziek van geworden ben. Daar ga ik nog een aparte klacht over indienen. Het hotel is overigens niet dicht bij het strand van de Frigate Bay Strip, daar moet zeker een kwartier tot 20 minuten voor gelopen worden. Het strand bij het Marriot waar het hotel aan refereert, is niet gratis. Daar moet een dagpas voor worden gekocht van 50 US dollars. Ik ben erg teleurgesteld in dit hotel, zeker gezien de prijs die ervoor betaald moet worden. Het is geen 4 sterren waard. Er zijn andere hotels die direct aan het strand liggen en een stuk goedkoper zijn. Kennelijk maakt niemand daar gebruik van het ontbijt, want vrijwel alle gasten die er waren gingen naar de supermarkt aan de overkant. Het lijkt wel een hostel in plaats van een hotel.

The pricing for this stay aligned with other hotels that offered daily housekeeping and breakfast, despite being an aparthotel without these features. I was there for a birthday and they had no special offerings (i.e glass of wine, chocolates,/ candies, flowers in the room (which they could cut from their many gardens)). At check-in I had to ask a lot of questions about the property, when I got the room I saw a QR code leading to all the info. I wish that QR code was offered/ shown at reception. They could easily take their stays to the next level witha more personalized/ thoughtful approach to the customer experience.

The room was in need of a thorough deep clean. It appeared that only a surface clean had been carried out. A single wipe of the floor clearly indicated that it had not been properly cleaned or mopped for some time. I arranged for housekeeping to bring a mop so I could clean the floor.

The outside room doors and walls throughout the room were marked with dirt and would benefit from repainting. The paint on the balcony was blistering and peeling, giving the area a neglected appearance.

The brown carpet was heavily thick with dust and required a deep clean.

Overall, the poor level of cleanliness and maintenance created a gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere, making the room feel rather depressing.

The hotel is very overpriced for what they deliver and does not provide international standards.

That there was not much entertainment.
