Nice hotel for an over night stay crossing Oregon.
Pros:

It was a nice room and welcomed stay arriving late after having to take a long detour because of a fire closure. The staff was nice and it had a great breakfast with many choices and hot food. It was also helpful that they have a 24 hr front desk which many motels in small towns do not. There was a pool but we didn't have time to use it. We would definitely stay there again.

Cons:

The pet area was very small but close by and ok for an overnight stay in transit. Otherwise it was great!

Pros:

A good spot for easy walking in John Day to the state historical site and restaurants. Super clean and comfortable for an afternoon of napping and doing some quick laundry. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of items.

Cons:

Our room, 119, has some issues with the door opening and locking, once inside. We reported the issue to the afternoon and morning desk person.

I liked the property so much I signed up for their rewards program,
Pros:

Walking distance to restaurants and stores.
Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site is just down the street,

breakfast was good. appreciate the fresh fried eggs and assortment of other breakfast choices.

Cons:

the mattress needs changed. As a frequent traveler if the mattress is worn our and too soft, we dont sleep well. if ou dont sleep well, its not a good experience.

Glad it was only for 1 night. Front desk understanding. Cleaning staff needs to find another job.
Pros:

Location easy to find. Close to dinning. (Walking distance) Front desk staff very helpful.

Cons:

First room for handicap, cigarette butts outside door. Traveling with friend who suffers with Asthma. That did not rest well with her. Opened door and room did not look like it had been cleaned. Debris on one of the beds and pillows looked like someone had been sleeping on them. Showed photo of room to front desk, she apologized, said this was the 3rd complaint of the day. She tried another room, looked dirty and friend said bathroom smelled of urine. Finally found a room that was more ADA compliant for my friend. I booked this hotel on recommendation from a client who lives in John Day and said the BW had recently been updated and was clean. Probably will never get my friend to stay at a BW again. She said she has always been disappointed by this hotel chain.
