Our room had patios that lead to the pool, which we had to ourselves that particular evening. The front desk staff & maintenance man named TJ were particularly friendly. We found the rooms to be clean and comfy. The breakfast was excellent.
Apparently the hot tub hasn't worked in a couple years or so. That would have been nice.
Bottom floor next to swimming pool
The hot tub was inoperable. The room should have had extra toilet paper in the closet. One of the walls corner’s had a sizable gash on it, when we first entered the room. We reported it and took a picture.
Breakfast was good.
There were ants all over bed and floor of room. We were moved to another room.
The location was good. The view was nice.
The hotel was terribly understaffed. One gal was managing the front desk AND doing laundry to prepare for incoming guests. The laundry room was not available to guests. You had to go to the front deck for ice. The TV did not stream properly and the one gal managing the front desk was trying her best to accommodate us. It was obvious that staff was not being managed properly.
Convenient location by the 101
Rude staff, threatened an early check in fee for arriving at 3:05pm. It's was 105 degrees out and the room AC was not on when I arrived. It took over five hours for the room to cool down.

Sheets were dirty had to get them changed brought more dirty sheets. Place was not clean. They had no extra towels. It seemed like everything is always in the wash. Front desk was really rude when I asked to speak to a manager. I feel the minimum they owe me is a free night as we had to make our own beds up when they brought clean sheets finally
The pool and location were good.
Room was very run down, ripped bed skirt, dirty patio doors and patio. There were dangerous wood protrusions from the bed frame. Breakfast was mediocre with two main stations out of order. Hot tub was a dangerous eyesore. Just an empty concrete hole with single piece of yellow tape around it. Access to the pool was not functioning so had to use a side gate that involved steps. Not accessible for sure.
The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable, the only complaint I had was the breakfast place was out of almost everything..

Not much, there was nothing nice about the property. The staff was very nice and helpful.
The hotel needs a major makeover. It’s very dated and maintained, the hot tub was closed off and filthy. The hotel is very run down. It wasn’t worth the money we paid.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable as well.
The location is good to the redwoods. It is easy access to the rest of the town of Garberville. We were given a room that was "poolside" which in concept was nice.
The room smelled like a smoker had been there. This is common in cheaper places like this. Also, there was no toilet paper, and we had to call the front desk to bring some. Initially, he brought a box of tissues and nervously mumbled something about "can't find." Our poolside room led to a locked gate, held shut by a zip tie. So, not really pool access if you have to walk all the way around. The ground-floor rooms are accessed by a subterranean corridor that is spooky. That place needs a lot more decorations and plants to change the atmosphere. Otherwise, it feels like somewhere you might be murdered.
Comfortable
Upon checking in I was told they didn't have rooms with a pool view as my reservation said. I also went to my room and found a dirty coat in the corner. There were rocks and debris on the carpet.
The pool looked dirty.
