Friendly staff, overpriced property
Pros:

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nice pool and waterfront view.

Cons:

The pictures of the property are AI enhanced. They present the property as bright, fresh and newly renovated. In reality, it's dark and rundown with the smell of mildew throughout. I was disappointed for the price paid.

Every part of our 5 day stay was excellent!! Ricardo and Denise were 2 names that I remember the most! Everyone was so friendly and always had a smile on!!

Have looked at other resorts in the area for our next visit

Great location, great pool, and great view.

Cons:

I requested a specific room number after having such a great experience our first stay. I was told I reserved a pool view room with double beds and they had no record of the request. I looked later at my reservation and it said I reserved a partial lake view room queen beds. It was a very uncomfortable sleep with two adults in a double bed. We were so looking forward to our room requested and stated we would pay more if needed. The pool not once had any clean towels available. My son was looking forward to the pool lights and they were never turned on. The entire pool area was actually very dark and I feel like safety would be a concern. Vending machines were not stocked. Breakfast was very busy and not all food was restocked - once something was out, it was out. Our room got partially cleaned a day. It was disappointing from what we remembered previously.

we loved our stay at the best western, it offered great views and wonderful family vibes!
Pros:

the property and the extra special touches were amazing for our family. we had an outstanding time in the outdoor pool upon arrival. we enjoyed the views of lake huron and other families using the large grass area to play baseball while our kids played on the playground. topping off the night, the bonfire and provided s’more kits were a highlight! my husband and i enjoyed sitting on our balcony after we put the kids to bed, where we were able to chat and simply enjoy our surroundings. the included breakfast was great, well stocked with food and staff to assist. lastly, it was so easy to use the included shuttle to get to the mackinac ferries. we will be back and we will tell everyone how great our stay at the best western was.

Truly incredible property
Pros:

I had no idea that a Best Western could be this amazing. This is a large property with several hotel buildings. Many rooms are lakefront or Lakeview. They have an indoor and outdoor pool with hot tub, Cornhole, firepit, s'more supplies brought out at night, breakfast buffet and a short ferry ride away from Macinac Island. I'm pretty sure there was a playground as well. Lots of space for kids to run around. My only complaint is that the pool deck for the outdoor pool is made of rocks and it is very uncomfortable to walk on. I also stepped on a sliver of something while walking about 10 feet on the pool deck and have not been able to get it out. This would probably not have happened if the pool deck was more sweepable. Overall this place is a great spot to stay and relax.

Old dated musty smelling rooms!
Pros:

From the exterior the grounds look maintained and buildings look renovated. Walk inside your room and find out what this place is really an old musty smelling dingy dated motel. also, the window unit air conditioner would cycle on every five minutes and make a horrible sound. on top of that you’re paying almost $300 a night. What a rip off. We stayed here with a group and had two other rooms with similar experiences. don’t stay here under any circumstances. You’ve been warned.
