The rooms were beautiful and cozy. It was a great stay with comfortable beds and great views. Breakfast was wonderful!
Pool area could use some cleaning and attention to spiders
The location of this hotel is perfect. Hiking and great food are close by. The breakfast is at the restaurant next door and is the best I've enjoyed. Friendly service. I would highly recommend a river-view room.
This is by far the best ran hotel we’ve stayed in on our 30 day road trip! Everything was spotless and well maintained! The staff were friendly and helpful! On top of all that, the river view was amazing! Breakfast is served next door and was very good. Also the fish place on the other side had the best fried clams dinner.
Very clean and helpful staff.
Great staff, nice room, GORGEOUS VIEW! If I'd been traveling on my own I'd have given it 5 stars for the view alone, and the staff certainly deserved 5 stars. However, I was traveling with an elderly neighbor with balance problems and the beds were sooooooo incredibly high that she could not get into one! She's 5'2", so has no problem getting into bed if a standard height. The staff didn't have any rooms with beds that would have been different and they didn't have a rollaway bed. The step stool that maintenance came up with didn't help because of my elderly friend's balance issues. She ended up sleeping with her body on the love seat and her legs on a chair. That poor woman looked so incredibly uncomfortable!
I definitely won't be bringing her back, which is sad because she loved the hotel as much as I did, it's situated in such an amazing spot.
Like I said, it was the bed height that kept me from giving it 5 stars.
Best hotel by the Columbia River Gorge. Stayed at a larger corner room with great views, great free breakfast next door at a restaurant, double sink, refrigerator with a freezer section, microwave, ample seating space, a dining table and the 24-hour coffee and other specialty drinks.
Breakfast was great
The breakfast, the location, the views and the staff.
The jets in the pool were not working.
The room was great, the beds were comfortable, but THE VIEW was stunning! From our small balcony we had the beautiful Columbia River below us spanned by The Bridge Of The Gods, and rugged mountains across from us! We watched big river boats, barges, jet boats, and trains go by. We had birds galore around us, singing and flitting past.
We had a negative and it was my fault. I was traveling with a friend that ended up less mobile than we thought. (She had recently had a fall) I should have asked for a handicap accessible room but didn't realize it until way too late. Anyway, the beds are INCREDIBLY high and she was unable to get into hers. Injured, unstable on her feet and height challenged she was unable to conquer the climb. The staff tried hard to find a way for us to make it work but no luck. Luckily she is very short and was ALMOST able to lay comfortably on that tiny loveseat... we got a chair involved, it provided support for her feet, and she woke up in the morning none the worse for wear. 😀
We were here for a family event in the area and needed something close by. This is not a deluxe hotel so my 5 stars doesn't mean luxury but more refers to value and charm. This is a Best Western is an almost rural area (think motel), and they do an amazing job. The staff were super hospitable and accommodating. The rooms are large and ours had a balcony and stunning view of the river and a few glorious sunsets. I loved watching the birds fish and boats motor by. Breakfast next door was very serviceable. (the Bob's red mill oatmeal with poached pear was great). Loved having a cappuccino machine in the lobby. Rooms seemed reasonably soundproofed. Train noise was not bad and I did not hear traffic noise on the bridge. For travelers with kids and/or dogs, there is a large lawn adjoining the property.
Breakfast was amazing. I expected it to be muffins and fruit but it was actual breakfast with great options.
NA
The view! We were able to get a 4th floor room, we expected problems with the train underneath but really didn't notice it, in fact the fridge was louder.
We were going to book an historic hotel wogh beautiful gardens nearby, which was much more expensive. We visited that hotel and were glad that we didn't; that hotel has the trains screech-braking at that point, plus on the other side, it has heavy highway traffic noise. We were very happy with this hotel and the view!
I like a breakfast with healthier choices, but most people like the eggs bacon etc
The staff was spot on. John was training someone and telling them the importance of making a guest feel welcome from the 1st impression. I felt like family from day 1. We hiked miles and came back to "welcome back Morse family". Thank you for making my holiday personal and I'll be back....
Nothing
Awesome views of the gorge and bridge of the gods. Rooms were modern and very clean. Looked like fairly new carpet. Breakfast at the restaurant next door is free and has a lot of choices. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
