Moderately priced classic hotel
Pros:

Beautiful view from our balcony. In room very clean spa tub.
Unique ambiance and history of property. Recently renovated with fresh paint,LVT, and furnishings. Nice breakfast selection. Quick checkout.

Checked in with the idea that the golf cart we rented could stay on property as stated in their Internet ad but when we got there found out that golf carts weren't allowed to stay there.If we knew that we wouldn't stayed there.The person who checked us in was very rude

Very pleasant place to stay.
Pros:

Friendly staff. Clean rooms and facilities . I did not eat breakfast there, I did go to get coffee and it had a variety of options.

Cons:

There was no place in the room to hang my clothes. The space was not well suited for a Queen size bed with bulky furniture.

It was Okay and we will return to visit Madison, but we are not sure we will stay at the Hillside In

The hotel location was nice.

Cons:

The tornado knocked out the power. We did not experience the breakfast and we had to check out to find another hotel.

Worth the stay!
Pros:

The bed was quite comfortable, lots of pillows, big TV, nice sized balcony. Floor was very clean for walking barefoot.

Cons:

It is a much older building, and some paint is chipping, drywall cracking - color is outdated; however, everything was very clean and furniture in good shape. This is our second time to stay here. We loved the proximity to downtown, though we couldn't see the river from our 1st story room this time. If we stay again, we'll request an upper floor for better bridge views. As far as breakfast goes, the buffet is ample, but eggs were "fake" - watery and orange juice watered down. Otherwise, there are enough options to enjoy before heading out for the day.
