Good value, relaxed place to stay in Whangarei Heads area.
Pros:

Spacious room. Good service. Nice block of shops right across the road. Great view out the balcony. Nice to have real windows to open but air con when needed.

Cons:

Stairwells a bit musty. Pool not heated so bracing, even in March. Tavern in building next door - but noise ok with windows closed and it shut down at a reasonable time. Internal signage very dated - could be easily refreshed.

The staff were friendly, the restaurant was amazing and the food was great. I would definitely come back to eat and stay
Pros:

Although the property is a bit dated it is very quaint and comfortable (so don’t let the looks deceive you).

Cons:

The floors upstairs were a little noisey (I was here for work and doing odd shifts so needed to get sleep when I could) but the beds and pillows were so comfortable that the noise disappeared once I tucked myself in.
