Disappointing night in a hotel on a beautiful location
Pros:

Coral Rock is conveniently located, right near Turtle Point. Views from the terrace are great.

Cons:

The room (and especially the bathroom) smelled like cigarettes - which is rather disgusting. We asked for a different room, but reception said there were none available (even though it's been raining cancellations in Sri Lanka due to the situation in the Middle East, and the hotel was anything but fully booked). All our clothes still smelled like cigarettes the rest of our trip.
The headboard of the bed was disgusting.
Also, the water in the pool looked it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Honestly, I would avoid this town altogether, because it feels like a Russian enclave.

Cons:

Отель расположен не там, где указана точка в букинге. Отель расположен между океаном и шоссе, по которому круглосуточно ездят машины и гудят, так как шумоизоляции нет то ощущение, что ты спишь на обочине, очень шумно.

Location is amazing. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Pool is clean. Rooms are cleaned every day and very comfortable. Close to lots of restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Cons:

Had to ask for shampoo,conditioner and coffee supplies to be replaced as this was not done when the room was cleaned.

The rooms are very outdated and not properly cleaned, and the bathroom plumbing is poor — water stays in the sink for a long time instead of draining. The bed was dirty, and the pool had a strong unpleasant smell and was also unclean. The walls have fungs molds

Basic amenities were lacking as well — no complimentary water bottles were provided, so I had to buy them from the market. Several electrical fittings were loose, which felt unsafe, and there was no proper blanket or comforter provided — only one very thin sheet to cover.

Considering the overall condition of the property, the prices are quite high and do not offer good value for money. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made.

Without a doubt the best hotel in Hikkaduwa
Pros:

This hotel is without a doubt the best hotel on Hikkaduwa beach. The view is outstanding, the pool is lovely and clean.
The bed is super comfy, the room is a bit dated but had everything we needed. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Pros:

The Indian ocean view, of the coral and sunsets from a room balcony, is fabulous.
Housekeeping very good.
Comfy beds.
Pool.

Cons:

Heavy bathroom door insists on closing with not enough room when you're in there. The hair dryer is on the wall in front right of the sink. Your albow keeps hitting it while you're using the sink.

Hotel reception was with limited language skills and couldn't explain well when she rang me to cancel my booking.com before I checked in the same day.

I would have been without a room at the very last minute. I then went to the hotel and ultimately communicated with others at the hotel, and another room was found.
