The hotel is overrated over priced, dirty, untidy, photos to prove, furniture in room was dirty, food was appalling, cho
Cons:

No air conditioning, no safe in room, no alarm clock as advertised, no fridge in room, no water available considering hottest week on record, rubbish left lying around hotel and visible. Room had stains on carpets and on furniture, hadn’t been cleaned, bath legs rested on wooden blocks. English breakfast not available one morning, choice very minimal, just toast, one bowl of mixed fruit, a plate of melon slices, cereal in small boxes, no croissants or pastries, coffee from one jug, tea from sachets, minimal effort. No alternative for people with allergies etc.

Lovely hotel and nice location.
Pros:

Beautiful location and a lovely room. It was in the hall on the island on the top floor so great views of the lake. Clean room and friendly staff.

Cons:

There was a wedding party on the same night which meant that there were a lot of people and noise. It felt a bit strange to walk through their drinks and canapés to get to our room.

This hotel has the potential to be amazing but sadly isn't at that point yet.
Pros:

Staff are lovely - very helpful, welcoming and obliging
Absolutely beautiful setting and island "manor house"
Lovely to be able to arrive late to avoid travelling in a heatwave
Super swimming pool with wonderful view, which guests can use between 7 and 9 am
Staff happy to help trouble-shoot any problems

Cons:

Initially shown to a basement room with a hole in the wall, moth-eaten carpets (literally - complete with moths !) and the only ventilation a full -sized door onto a scruffy patio with a hugely noisy generator that would not allow sleep.
When I said I couldn't sleep without fresh air, the night porter obligingly found me another room which was in much better condition - but with laundry trolleys blocking a window and again a very noisy generator outside (too noisy to allow that window to be opened) - The other window was fortunately a little further away facing the car park so let in slightly less noise - but it was still a constant loud thrum.
The radiators in the corridor were also on in a heatwave !
Although the first breakfast was good, for the second breakfast the gas broke down so no hot food and nothing to replace it like cheeses or meats - A refund however was available if you decided not to eat there.
I don't think the two rooms I experienced were worth nearly £100 a night.

Certainly does not warrant four stars and will not be returning.
Pros:

The surrounding location a big lake and very pretty.

Cons:

The rooms were requiring a refresh in decoration, in the sitting rooms etc, glasses food plates etc left by guests were still in the tables hours later. The downstairs stairs ladies toilet was broken had to walk a flight of stairs to get to the alternative. No air conditioning and. The bar man could not tell the difference between lemonade and tonic water completely ruined two double gin and lemonades. I could not eat my main meal I ordered Risotto and it was full of oil. In the morning they were not able to offer a cooked breakfast, however even the cold was abysmal, no cooked meats or cheese, no plain yoghurt or berries or pastries. Certainly not what I would have expected from a four star hotel. Very poor.

generally the location is superb
Pros:

we ordered gluten free breakfast and that arrived 40mins later so long waiting time,

In the room there was no a/c.....fan was not sufficient, it was hot.

Not clear at the time of booking whether the room was on the island or the main land.

Cons:

no a/c, late breakfast delivery

Beautiful hotel shame about the food and drink prices
Pros:

Beautiful setting, lovely big room and bathroom. Everything in the room from tea, coffee, biscuits and toiletries. Didn’t use the spa but it looked amazing, hot tubs overlooking the lake.

Cons:

Food and Drinks prices are shocking. £7.60 for a pint of San Miguel.
These are higher than London prices. For Dinner I had Gammon with Egg chips and peas. The chips were clearly oven chips the peas were so overcooked they were tasteless, the egg yolk had already run out over the gammon. I ordered what they listed as half bottle of wine at nearly £13 this turned out was a large glass. Then there was a service charge. So for Gammon egg chips and peas and a glass of wine £39. When I first arrived I thought my wife would love it here but the Food and Drink prices and quality of the food I won’t be returning.

Relaxing overnight stay the hall needs some redecorating .
Pros:

Beautiful grounds, accessible parking, and helpful staff made it an enjoyable overnight stay.

Cons:

The grand cafe was expensive for the standard of food , roast aubergine was a very small portion and the chips tasted frozen. Our executive double was tired, stained worn carpet, cracked floor tiles , and no bottle water as stated on the website.

Pros:

The location was great

Cons:

The room was cleaned, good unfortunately the bed was old and uncomfortable. Grounds were in poor shape and lots of bird poop,

absolutely everywhere.
Cafe food was only distinctly average, breakfast buffet was cold.
Overall very expensive and not worth the value.
