Guess there are no bargains in Carmel.
Pros:

Location, Mattress, towels, cleanliness, cute courtyard areas.

Cons:

Bathroom too tiny, room was cramped (109), no ac or fan on a warm night, outdoor light shining in the bedside window, TV was pathetic (small, low-def, couldn’t get rid of captions, channel guide just had station call letters (not broadcaster affiliation).

The location and room set up were great! Extremely hard beds, scratchy sheets, lack of ac, and tough parking were frustr
Pros:

Great location, charming beach cottages. We enjoyed the layout of the room with two separate bedrooms and a full and half bathroom.

Cons:

The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Could not sleep well. Lack of fans or ac of any kind meant the rooms were warm- hot and stuffy even though weather outside was beautiful. Parking on Friday evening around 5:30 pm was challenging. Took me 40 minutes circling to find a spot in either downtown Carmel or hotel.

Great location - dog friendly
Pros:

Walking distance to downtown Carmel. Dog friendly, there were treats waiting on the bed. Grounds were nice.

Cons:

Limited parking!! There was no more parking on the property so had to park down the street. Small room. Fake fireplace, it’s an electric heater. Kind of funny hence the name of the Inn.
Booked a ground floor room and they put me in a second floor room upon check in.
Noisy construction next door started at 7am on a Saturday.

5-star prices at a 3-star hotel in Carmel
Pros:

The Positives: Location and Service
There are a few bright spots. The location is excellent—it is a comfortable walking distance to the main town and an easy 10-minute stroll down to Carmel Beach.

Additionally, the customer service was a highlight. The receptionist who checked us in was incredibly nice and helpful, taking the time to point out zones on a map where we could legally park overnight (from 5:00 PM to 10:30 AM the next day) to compensate for the hotel's lack of on-site parking.

Cons:

The Room (Room 205)
While the king-size bed was comfortable and there was a nice, cozy gas fireplace in the corner, the rest of the room left a lot to be desired for $330 a night:

Outdated Furnishings: The furniture throughout the room felt old, tired, and well past its prime.

The TV: While the television itself was large and looked relatively new, the picture quality was terrible. There was definitely no high-definition (HD) capability, though it was unclear if the issue lay with the TV itself or the channel package.

No Blackout Curtains: The windows are covered by standard Venetian blinds. If you are sensitive to morning light, be prepared they let in a significant amount of light as soon as the sun comes up.

Climate Control: There is a wall heater located near the bathroom, which works fine, but be aware that there is no air conditioning in the room.

The Bathroom & Amenities
The bathroom was particularly disappointing. It was very small and completely lacked functional storage space for toiletries. Furthermore, the fixtures are showing their age: the shower faucets were stiff and hard to turn on, and the drain cover in the shower kept popping out during use.

Property Limitations
Parking Friction: On-site parking is incredibly limited. There are only about 8 spaces available for an 18-room property, meaning you will likely end up hunting for street parking.

Accessibility: Our room was on the second floor, and there is no elevator on the property. Carrying heavy bags up the stairs is something to keep in mind.

No Breakfast: Despite the high nightly rate, breakfast is not included. The receptionist mentioned they used to offer it, but stopped since COVID-19 six years ago and never brought it back. They do, however, have a coffee machine available.

Run!!!!!
Pros:

The check in process was very easy as I checked in very late. The room was clean.

Cons:

The parking is very, very limited. You will have to park on the street which is very dark and scary. The room was like an outdated hostel. It reeks of an abandoned building smell. The refrigerator is in the bathroom under the sink which is very unsanitary. The most important part is they don't tell you up front that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING! If this was the summertime, I would have definitely left! I will NEVER book an inn again in my life. FIRST & LAST TIME!
