Stayed 2 nights. 1st night was in handicapped room. It was filthy. Asked for another room the next morning for the 2nd night. I had to go to the front desk 3 times before being granted the request. That room was much cleaner, but the pillows were still not satisfactory. Both nights I put my t-shirt over the pillows so my face and head would not touch the pillowcase. Staff member, Eric, was accommodating in changing my room.
Stayed 2 nights. 1st night was in handicapped room. It was filthy. Carpet was filthy. My side of the bed smelled of urine; maybe from carpet or possibly from the mattress. Bed was uncomfortable. Pillows were stinky...smelled like sweat and dirty hair. Sheets didn't seem clean. Bathtub was dirty. Fabric on chair was badly stained. Curtain sheer was stained. There was no computer in the area marked "Business Center". No ice in any dispenser on any floor. Breakfast room dirty. Driving onto property, there were weeds, dead shrubs and uncut grass. It was too late to cancel. I would have lost my money.
The location was great.
1. The thermostat in the lobby was set at 80 and it was 100 degrees outside.
2. The side door which is supposed to open with a key card, was broken and left open.
3. The wall in the shower had water stains from an obvious leak that had not been fixed. The wall had been painted a different color.
4. None of the bedding, drapes, wall color or carpet matched.
5. The weeds surrounding the buildings was knee high.
6. We were in room 122.
The room was a decent size.
The room felt dark and dirty. The was debris in the pool.
Good Location
Bad internet and poor breakfast in quality, service and quantity
They double booked the room
This hotel is low quality. Scetchy people hanging around. Not exceptionally clean.

This is in a good location. Very quiet in the middle of the week. Practically too quiet. After check in, we never saw an employee but room was ok. We just slept and left. Breakfast was non existent. Get what you pay for.
The hotel itself was near lots of restaurants and shops making things easy to access.
First room smelled like urine. The second room smelled old, the bed was very uncomfortable, half the lights didnt work, the hair dryer didnt work, the bathroom was disgusting and still had dirty towels hanging from the shower rod.
The ground needed to be cleaned. There was no one working the front desk in the morning to inquire about a hair dryer.
First of all the most horrific part is the bathroom door doesn’t close because the TOILET IS IN THE WAY. So hope you weren’t counting on being able to shower or poop privately, at least certainly not in room 519. I can post photo and video proof.
BEWARE! Take photos of all the beds, filth and damage as soon as you get there. If you don’t they will charge YOU $50 for “blanket damage.” Which isn’t possible because I did not eat or drink or anything else messy on the bed. (And when I do in hotels I always put down a towel specifically so I don’t damage anything or end up with a bed full of crumbs.)
I even go so far as to bring my own towels whenever my hair is dyed a bright color so I don’t risk ruining their towels or pillowcases.
The room was so gross I considered complaining but didn’t want to be a “Karen.” I literally left it cleaner than I found it because I dusted several surfaces like the desk and around the TV because they were visibly dirty.
The shower was the worst part especially the floor liner that is discolored and dirty and needs replaced. The lotion dispenser was leaking all over the counter into a nasty crusty pile.
I unmade one of the beds to make sure there was not obvious bed bugs or anything nasty about it. I did see what looked like a coffee stain on the duvet but figured that’s the whole point of a duvet cover. The coffee machine was also dirty and I had to clean it. The coffee bags were also dusty and tasted gross so I dumped it in the sink.
I even rounded up all the towels and washcloths for the staff and put them on the bathroom sink the way I always do.
I’ve been traveling fairly often for about 20 years now and never once been charged for damages. I don’t smoke or anything else that could have resulted in a charge. Perfect score as an Airbnb guest too. They have way too high of reviews for the quality of room they provide. I know this is a cheap motel and to not expect the ritz but I’ve never had a dirty room at an Econolodge.
AVOID THIS PLACE if you possibly can. It’s not even worth it. It would have been cheaper to uber myself to Lawrence and back to Overland Park than bother staying there for a night
