Fab location, brilliant room
Pros:

The room was really big - perfect for taking little children so they had some space to play while in the room. The fridge was also super helpful and unexpected. View was stunning and perfect location for the illuminations. We also loved the pool. Comfiest bed I’ve slept in too!

Would recommend for a visit to Blackpool.
Pros:

Rooms in the Annex were very nice. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was also very good - various choices and good quality food. Entertainment was good. Location was across road from the beach so really nice views.

Cons:

The outdoor heated pool is seasonal. I have checked and I can't see that it says this in the advertisement for the hotel. The photos of the hotel all show the pool. We were disappointed because I chose this hotel specifically for the outdoor pool.

Pros:

I really enjoyed the sea view twin room and the entertainment wasn't bad. We played bingo and they had a couple of singers on, the guy needed to sing songs he could actually sing he wasn't great to be fair, but the woman was good. Had bed and breakfast and the breakfast was lovely. Had a problem which the staff sorted out immediately so that was great . Overall we had a good time but the hotel and rooms really need a refurb. The location is very quiet which I love and the tram stop is right outside to go to where all the action is. Check out tram prices if you're a family would be my advice. The indoor swimming is very small but ok and there is a jacuzzi. We went to look but didn't go in as it was very busy. The outdoor pool was closed in October so that's understandable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

I gave it a 9 because check in is 3 pm and when we arrived we wanted to order a sandwich as we didn't want anything too filling since we were considering having an evening meal in the hotel. It was maybe around 3.30 pm when I went to order 2 ham and cheese toasties only to be told that the snack person finished at 3 pm and that we could have anything else on the menu apart from the first column which was sandwiches of different styles panini toastie or sandwich. The other meals were a lot more filling like main courses and fish finger sandwich burger etc. firstly there was no mention on the menu to say sandwiches finished at 3 pm and secondly we were told the chef couldn't make us even a simple sandwich yet he could make a burger or fish finger sandwich, slightly confused 🤔 to me a hotel of that size it should never be too difficult to make a sandwich to keep your customers happy especially when there is no mention of them finishing at 3 pm. Also check in is 3pm so why wouldn't you allow for people arriving to have a sandwich when evening dinner last call is 7pm and starts at 5pm. They lost money there because we got on a tram and ate elsewhere and didn't go for the evening meal.
Also if I am being honest the hotel could do with a refurbishment as it's definitely in need. The rooms although not bad are old and somewhat worn out and the shower is very very small so if you are a big person or disabled it becomes impossible because it's super tiny.

Was disappointing
Pros:

It was clean and the family entertainment man was really good

Cons:

The beds was so uncomfortable you could feel every spring on the mattresses we all struggled to sleep. Also there wasn’t much choice on the breakfast menu so went elsewhere for breakfast.

Should have booked the big blue for the same price

The staff were lovely

Cons:

The room was dated, the bed was uncomfortable, the carpet looked like it was 30 years old with the duvet cover ripped.

It was so bad we had booked for 2 nights and left after 1 and just drove home.

A wonderful and welcoming stay.
Pros:

I recently stayed at The Doric Hotel and had a fantastic experience. While I didn't get the chance to use the pool, there were so many other highlights that made my stay memorable.
The staff were wonderful—so welcoming and attentive throughout my visit. As a solo traveler, I was initially worried I might feel a bit out of place, but the atmosphere is so friendly that I never felt lonely once. Everyone was lovely to chat with!
My room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and provided a great space to relax. Location-wise, it’s brilliant: there is plenty of parking right on the road outside, and it is situated directly opposite a tram stop, making it super easy to get around Blackpool without hassle.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Good all round
Pros:

The reception and downstairs is beautiful. Entertainment was great. Friendly staff and restaurant and food was good. Rooms a little dates but clean so you can't complain about that.

Cons:

We were looking forward to the swimming pools and spa for the family. In the indoor pool the water was murky. In the steam room the steam outlet had perished almost to collapse and there was a smell of mold. The outdoor pool is across a back lane which wasn't made entirely clear and signage could have been better, again water was murky, full of hair so we didn't stay long. In fact the hotel is so nice without the pool I don't think closing the swim spa suite would do the hotel any harm.
