Pros:

Close to the beach and walking distant to downtown (15-20 minutes) Manhattan Beach. Bit more of a village feel.

Cons:

Door locks and blinds need to be repaired/upgraded, but not a major issue for me.

Great location; prize was right
Pros:

Front desk staff were awesome and very helpful. The hotel and rooms are cozy and quaint and maybe a bit dated. But it was exactly as described and we enjoyed being a 3 min walk to the beach, being able to borrow chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. We didn’t have a vehicle so walked to the pier area for supper and it was a good 10-15 mins. The price was right and we loved this neighbourhood! Felt very safe during day and night!

love manhattan beach!
Pros:

location was great- at 34th street can walk straight down to the beach. Hotel had chairs, umbrella and towels. The rooms are clean, staff nice and helpful, liked sitting on the balcony with a partial view of the ocean from room 108. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t go in the pool too cold in March, not heated. A couple of restaurants nearby. Great market in the next block to the left that makes sandwiches and salads, has ice cream, beer etc. It is about 25 minute walk to the pier and restaurants and shops. Can’t beat the closeness to the airport.

Cons:

The rooms are dated, replacing the carpet with vinyl flooring would help.

Peculiar behavior
Pros:

The room/stay would have been rated better but Be on Alert... want to mention that Eddie set my credit card down, perfectly aligned, on his cell phone during the check-in process instead of handing it immediately back to me. My friend noticed this oddness, too. When I pointed it out and asked why it was on his phone, he said "I don't know".

Great for quick stay but don’t expect luxury stay
Pros:

Location is great with restaurants and other vendors all in very short walking distance, close to beach, relatively close to downtown manhattan beach.

Cons:

Very minimal amenities within the room.

I would avoid....
Pros:

I had such high hopes based on the photos and reviews but was very dissapointed. The location is perfect but the accomodations are terrible. Small cramped rooms, dirty comforter, terrible pillows, no soap, no shampoo, extremely noisy, and rude front desk management. Avoid unless you are someone who does not care about quality. I checked out early. Terrible customer service, terrible rooms.

Very disappointing experience.

On February 23–24, 2026, I had a serious issue with two front desk employees (night shift female staff and morning shift male staff). I was charged $25 for parking even though I do not have a car and parking was never discussed. The charge was made after the staff took my credit card.

The next morning at checkout, the male employee was rude, raised his voice, and tried to convince me to leave while saying he would “fix it later.” He delayed removing the charge and the hold on my card. Only after I said I would call the police did he process the refund.

The situation was stressful and unprofessional.

I strongly advise future guests to carefully check their credit card statements and any holds placed on their card to avoid improper charges.

Very disappointing.
