The staff was very nice and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Unfortunately the weekend we were there, the pool was closed for service. The location is great if you are going to an event at the Performing Arts Center or a baseball game.
The room was comfortable, though could use some extra hooks in the bathroom.
It can be noisy due to events in the area AND a train comes through regularly. It was not a detraction for us personally, but is definitely something to be aware of.
The dining situation in the hotel itself was a bit disappointing. There is a bar and a small "grab and go" kind of "restaurant. You could order some special meals available during mealtimes, it was not a "restaurant" in the typical expectations of a restaurant. That being said, there are tons of options within minutes of the hotel walking.
Hotel parking is $15/night and is in an attached parking garage.
Value for the money - Pretty good. The location is the absolute best for me because we didn't have to drive anywhere to attend the event and that saved so much time. The atmosphere overall is pleasant and things are clean.
Close to DPAC
Water was smelly, TV didn't work, few food options within walking distance
Great proximity to DPAC and able to see fireworks from stadium while lounging by the pool!
When I needed to stay an additional night, staff weren't particularly empathetic (I was suffering from a terrible stomach virus) or helpful. That was disappointing, since up until that moment, staff had been wonderful.
So close to DPAC, Durham Bulls Stadium and fun shopping!
Loved how close it was to places to eat. Also very convenient when going to see a program at DPAC.
one elevator didnt work the night of the show and took for ever to get off of the 2nd floor to the lobby. Also how much the rooms echo'd. I was charged for parking but the parking deck was open the whole time without having to pay if you were just visiting the area.
