On the whole it was very clean, food was good, staff excellent, had to ask for another room, I thought I’d stepped back in time 30 years, it wasn’t what I had seen online!! I was so disappointed, I wasn’t going to say anything, as I was only there for one night, maybe because I was a single person ? But I decided to say something and the receptionist put me in an another room, so far superior to the last one! Which I really appreciated ! Lovely and clean etc and comfortable!
Seaview room was very nice. Stayed in a solo room with an ensuite. Room had a kettle, clothes storage and a bed. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was like a time capsule to the 70s. Not very modern and quite small.
Breakfast was included in the stay and I had the full breakfast each day. It was a great way to start the day.
Parking on site is £10 a day
There was £50 deposit for breakages per night too that I was surprised with on my check in.
Of an evening the entertainment was nice, usually bingo followed by cabaret. The staff at the hotel were lovely and they have 2 bars. The hotel definitely feels like it needs a bit of modernisation in places.
That's not to say it was bad, it was nice but wasn't cheap. However the surrounding area is very run down, a lot of derelict buildings and closed up store fronts. A short walk (about 10 mins) South will take you to the tower and the more lively area of town.
The room was very clean
Room ok but very dated, staff very friendly, food very good , bar and entertainment good
Room : big family room . But not very child friendly to access 208 with a pram /suitcase stairs x3 after a lift didnt help.one of.us is disabled and cudnt carry case /pram . Windows started let in water due to rain outside .
Toilet area : no baby changing area and seemed.to only be one toilet near bar area ( no signposts for any other ones :( ).no sign of disabled toilets either
Food : very good portion size and lovely food but slow service in morning for cooked breakfast/ hot drinks, toast some
Lovely restaurant staff but some were more attentive to the older generation than family with hungry baby.
Overall rate as not child under 5 friendly .
Good entertainment and nice staff
I wasn't there for the shopping, just needed a break as it was a long time coming, everything was perfect, i felt i could free roam without questions asked, the staff were amazing, cannot fault them, i am a night owl, i sleep or i don't and the last night before i left i had a conversation with a member of staff named Seamus and he told me that was only his second shift at Park House Hotel, i was blown away, he was so happy to listen to my troubles, was brilliant all round, no faults whatsoever. Thank you. The only downside was the room key system, i thought it was out of date to have a key to have to lock the room when you leave it, i think that might be a thing that really needs updating with a key card and on leaving the room it automatically locks but other than that no qualms.
You not put me down for breakfast for the four day thanks u
Staff really friendly , rooms spotless , love this hotel
Room on website was not the room we were given. The room is decorated from the 80’s as is the pink bathroom suite. Wallpaper hanging off the wall. Not as advertised at all
enjoyed the stay good food. good value
the second bed was not up to what i wanted as you could feel the springs the afternoon snack was very good plus very good breakfast.
Beautiful Hotel with very friendly welcoming staff nothing is too much trouble for them. Excellent food 5 stars to the Chefs and kitchen staff. I highly recommend the Coddled Beef Steak to any meat eaters it’s delicious as was all our meals. Added bonus of evening entertainment with lovely chatty bar staff. I will definitely stay there again.
Horrid place nothing like photos staff useless had police there loads while there for trouble it was horrific
Totally disgusting place nothing like the pictures in here staff are rude and unhelpful it is a stay clear of this place
Nothing like these photos complete flea pit staff are rude place had lots of police presence and no sleep whatsoever and when you complain they state they did not care as I didn’t book direct so do not book this hotel
We booked this hotel as we had family getting married there. We knew the hotel must be nice with family getting married there but it was even nicer than expected. We booked family room. Room 325 we were allocated. This room was modern and spotlessly clean. The room was a perfect size and lots of storage space which was great as we had 2 suitcases with us. We had breakfast included. Food was lovely and staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will defintely be back thank you
Very clean and d friendly staff. Great room
Modern Spacious room with two comfortable double beds staff very friendly
Have stayed at Park House twice now. Love everything about the hotel. It is a little run down in the corridors but that just adds to the old charm of the place. Staff are pleasant and friendly and always willing to help. Good choice for breakfast, food cooked well and tasty. Our Grandson loves his stay here for the illuminations. Thank you all at Park House.
