Different, a bit quirky, not perfect yet but overall good fun and very enjoyable
Pros:

A wonderful old building with a long history, very stately and imposing. Reception area needs renovating as it does not feel welcoming. Crazy old-style lift was a lot of fun, if in need of some renovation. Hope they don't feel the need to remove it. Our room was huge and included a fully-furnished lounge area between bed and bathroom. The whole room has recently been renovated to a high standard and was bright and modern. Downstairs the restaurant and bar are shared with the street so were always bustling but well-staffed. All staff, especially Sharon at breakfast, were friendly and helpful. Food was good and our whole stay was great value and highly enjoyable.

Cons:

Carpet going upstairs needs replacing. The type of renovation work done to our room needs to be extended to the common areas.

Not very accessible. Has an old lift, but won’t work if doors are not shut (manually)

Great for a short stay. Highly recommend.
Pros:

Recently renovated - really nice fittings, well designed. Surprisingly quiet. Great location. Free parking.

Cons:

Minor complaint but There were a few too many flashing lights during the night - smoke detector, phone on the desk etc.

Parking was convenient being across the street the road. The room was cozy and clean. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant where the staff excellent
