Very old hotel. Has not been upgrade for a while. Location is convenient. Easy access to food stalls and supermarket.
We booked 3 rooms as we were gonna catch a Kpop concert at the MIECC. I sent a message to the hotel to ask how far was the MIECC away from the hotel. For 3 weeks, no reply from the hotel.
On May 31, we checked in at around 2.30pm after a 7-hour drive from Singapore. Mr Qader attended to us. He informed me that we were given Rooms, 409, 413 and 415. However only 409 and 415 were ready. 413 was still being cleaned. He wrote down 413 on one card holder and told us to return in an hour's time to collect it. Since the room was already allocated to us, we did not collect it till after the concert. Upon collecting the card to Room 413, the staff gave us Room 517 instead. Upon questioning the staff said that the previous guest staying at Room 413 had asked for an extension. Then the staff changed the story to the Aircon had broken down in Room 413, hence they needed to allocate Room 517 instead. My niece took the key card to Room 517 and went to the room. As she was sleeping alone, she was scared to be far away from her parents in Room 415. In the end, no one used Room 517. The whole family squeezed in Room 415 for the night.
The next morning, we saw a family coming out of Room 413, going for their swim. Well, the staff said the Aircon had broken down in Room 413.....the family could take it???
Up till now, still don't know why our room was given away to another family. Sad sad
We gave a poor rating on the hotel booking website and then we received an apology (WhatsApp )from the Front Desk Manager, Mr Ku Guang Yi. He apologised that our room was not cleaned properly. I told him to go and read my review and get the whole story right before sending out any message to any guest. Haha he blocked me on WhatsApp already.
I really hope the real owner of this hotel reads this review because his staff is leading the hotel to its demise.
By the way, the Aircon in Room 415 leaked the entire night creating a small pool in the room.
We had wonderful time with family and kids during our CNY holiday. We chose to stay at villa which quite comfortable and spacious. Even though the resort is quite old but its well maintained. It’s a great place to stay with family, the artificial beach really nice kids loves the pool. The resort has super amazing view! Our villa balcony has lakeside view and garden. Staffs are polite and the kids had fun. Lobby decoration is cool too.
シャワーの水が出なかった。
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience here.
The hotel although it may have been beautiful in its day has not been maintained and is very run down.
The staff and breakfast were its only redeeming factors.
The room was dingy and mouldy especially in the bathrooms which had a lot of mould under the soap dish and the shower curtain.
The bathroom was also not clean with hair from a previous guest still in the bathtub.
The sheets and towels were stained and there was some kind of grime on the headboard which I cleaned off myself.
The water never went above luke warm.
We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the stadium and didn’t choose the cheapest hotel in the area to avoid getting a dud.
Therefore as a last and final comment value for money is not good either.
房間太老舊,又沒有維修,前檯服務態度很差,只有門口警衛比較好一點。不建議大家來住。
The resort looked good on picture and the lobby still looks grand … but the place is very run down. Room was dark, furnished with very old uncomfortable beds. Carpets are just in bad shape. Service didn’t help improve the experience: I got a very long check in of more than 30min and was double charged at check out. Food wasn’t good.
Old and dirty
good place to enjoy the moment and relax area nice beach also in night can hear the sound of environment .. need to make some maintain friendly staff keep up helpful the price is not so high as kl the light is romantic ... nice 👌
Beach in the city only in Selangor!
Nice view, relax & peach of mind ♥️
Excellent service from the entire hotel . Definately will come back again 😘
P/s; booking through official hotel website is cheaper than others platform!
Beach pool is nice for kids to play with sand same as you are at the beach , but don't expect for a crystal clear water and the color looks like the lake color but still safe to swim . at last some facility in room not function well and need some upgrade .
No F&B outlets open at all, they should have advised prior to booking but I was only informed during check in. Everything was prepaid and as a business traveler I arrived late evening. Thus could not even consider looking for other hotels.
This was very inconvenient as a business traveler where I basically go from hotel to meetings, without the luxury to find breakfast before meetings.
Staffs couldn’t care less when I shared with them and told me that I was informed at check in.
The room is like a house you left for a month, myb due to pandemik. But still comfortable with basic amenities like funtioning AC, fridge, TV (no cartoon channel), Iron with board, water boiler, coffee, tea and sugar. I like the bath room as it is clean and got a bath tub. There is also a hot water which sometime is not functioning.
Would recommend for room with lake view. The view is nice to relax.
The man made beach pool is nice for kids to play with sand same as you are at the beach. For the pool, don't expect for a crystal clear water. The color looks like the lake color but still safe to swim.
I will give 4 star if most of the facilities operate as usual. But so far there is no cafe open myb temporarily and no free breakfast.
this is my 2nd time coming here. came here on 5-6/3/21 with friend & come again on 10-11/3/ with family.
i recommend to choose DELUXE PLUS or villa instead of CLASSIC ROOM. yes classic is the cheapest but there is no view u can see. the attraction here is the pool and lake view.
there is free parking at the basement but we choose to have the valet paking which cost us rm10 per day since it was too dark when at night.
View is great. Room is clean. Heater & aircond functioning very well. BUT astro channel only 3 channels available which are cartoon & 2 sports. 1 more thing toothbrush need to be requested from reception. so RIDICULOUS! they also wont provide any extra towels even if u request for it. if hotel is full house i could be more understanding but that time only few rooms occupied.
by the time i come here there is no cafe open. that means no room service. either u have to to THE MINES in front @ order from food delivery. for breakfast they outsourced from other party. only nasi lemak available@ RM10 & they will send to your room at 8am.
POOL looks not really clean eventhough they said just cleaned the pool. the balls floated in the pool also very dirty. but its very worthy for the photo. beautiful scenery. at night there are colorful light at the pool until midnight.
TIPS: if u choose CLASSIC/ DELUXE PLUS room please request at level 4. because at night its very dark & level 4 is where lobby is located. so it wont be too scary to pick up your food from food delivery rider
I would like to thanked the staff for the hospitality in particular the portal staff. Thank you Zainal. Despite we check in late but we managed to check-in smoothly and slept well as the room was in order.
On December 22, 2020, I booked Philea Mines Beach Resort using Booking.com. However, I have trouble looking for it at night (around 11:00 pm). The surrounding of The Mines and its buildings were dark, and there was no street light as well. That place was just like an abandoned place, and it was filling with many stray dogs. That made the driving at night even worse. After wasting about 30 minutes searching around for the resort, I decided to cancel the booking.
The Mines was like a dead place; that made me thinking that I was scammed by Philea Mines Beach Resort whenever I reached The Mines.
On December 24, 2020, I contacted the Booking.com to request for a refund. Then, I was told by the Booking.com that the Philea Mines Beach Resort rejected the refund. After that, I made a call to the resort. The staff told me that their cancellation policy doesn’t allow them to make a refund to me. The cancellation policy is written as following:
Note that if canceled, modified, or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
I was there searching for the Philea Mines Beach Resort for about 30 minutes, and I still couldn’t locate it. Then, how is it possible for me to show up in the first place. The Mines was in bad condition, and they wanted us to pay the price because we couldn’t locate the resort.
Philea Mines Beach Resort staffs were bad at rectifying issue; they kept pushing the refund problem to Booking.com. Again, the Booking.com said the refund was disagreed by the resort.
I am here to warn everyone not to book Philea Mines Beach Resort using Booking.com for holidays. Hope this would help all of you.
Very near with Mines Shopping Centre just have a walk distance. Have an uptown night market at neighbouring area only. Check in time at 3.00pm and Check out time at 12.00pm. Just have a short time to enjoy the hotel facilities with the period of checkin and checkout. Pool have a XL size and good for children. Gym too small for a huge members in one time to workout and equipments are to old dated with the treadmill machine also spoiled and can not used. Hard to access from basement parking with luggages to Lobby by use a ladder.
In my line of work I've been to a decent amount of hotels ranging between 3 to 5 stars. I personally rate this hotel 0 star. Where do I even begin;
No shelter between the basement car park to hotel (I melted in the rain)
When I arrived at 630am in the hotel, most of the lights were out and there wasn't any staff at sight
(I though this place was haunted)
The staff were extremely slow to check in and there obviously lack of staff.
(This explain the pricing)
Room is extremely outdated and ants were everywhere.
(I though I'm living outdoors)
Room in poor condition. Lights isn't working, water place in the fridge became frozen in the morning. I couldn't find a plug for the water heater.
(Bath tub wasn't working, I was told by the maintenance worker that nothing can be done, ekkkk)
The day I move in Friday 15th of November I notice the previous guest ordered room service and the tray of rubbish was there next to the door. I return to my room on the 17th of November at 330am and the tray of rubbish still next to my door.
(I think they expect me to clear it for them - talk about self-service at a 4 STAR resort)
The towel was paper thin and after every shower its so wet it can't be reused.
(Talk about saving the earth, this hotel clearly doesn't support the cause)
The night I try to order room service at 1130pm. Most of the drinks are sold out.
(Their clearly supporters of grab delivery)
The morning breakfast, the selection is so limited clearly fall below the number of fingers and my toes.
(They expect you to eat early, their no warmers underneath the serving trays - good luck)
The only plus point was that despite the close similarities to a haunted hotel this "resort" did not seems to have any complains of eerie incidents. (I google(d) and check but wasn't smart enough to read all it's review)
Lesson learn you pay what you get...
We like to Creative Meeting setup, known as Horse room.
Beside the lake view, the evening is interesting with Avatar and photos taking spots.
We had live grill dinner in the garden area, it was relaxing to Unwind after a long meeting session.
I arrived here after a badly scheduled flight which landed in the morning. It was the only option from my local airport in the UK. The reason it was badly timed was because I had been travelling for over 24 hours and arrived in the morning. So was expected to be turned away from reception to come back at 3pm. I was turned away to come back at 3pm. So an excellent place to go is the local shopping mall a short walk through two multi-storey car parks. There was plenty to do there, I even went to the cinema to watch a movie in English. I arrived back to hotel around 3pm to a massive queue of people trying to check in. I was told to sit in a square of seats near the reception desk to wait for a room to become available. Could do with the concierge or staff serving free drinks where there are massive delays like this, this should relieve the stress on the reception staff that were inundated and also make the guests feel as though they do exist as well as stopping the guests from dehydrating in the hot reception area. Several hours later I was still not in my room, no wifi in reception to contact my family, they only have wifi in the rooms. Eventually I was placed in a villa which was extremely nice. The wifi in the rooms was so unreliable I had to purchase mobile data for my phone and laptop. It was very dissapointing for me to see such a beautiful hotel to go from full to completely empty the next day, it was such a pity because it is a beautiful hotel. Next day I had breakfast and service was amazing and the food was good. The location of the hotel is amazing, a great view of the lake, the hotel is also amazingly well kept with an open plan reception area. Overall I would say my check-in was maybe a one off so I would stay at this hotel, the staff were genuinely nice once they were over with the busy check-in trauma. The prices were also reasonable for this grade of hotel and the location was very nice. I have downgraded it by one star because of the check-in problems, I had a missed housekeeping day, it was slightly dis-organised and the concierge didn't help me with my bags which I would expect from a hotel of this quality. I think if they improve those elements they could well have a five star hotel that westerners find a good place to visit over and over again.
