Friendly traditional country inn
Pros:

Welcoming and helpful staff. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Chatting with the locals in the bar. Tasty evening meal and good breakfast. Large comfy bed. Pretty village location was perfect for an overnight stop just off the A66.

Cons:

Minor plumbing issue - bath tap constantly running and unable to turn it off. However when we mentioned it to staff they did offer us another room AND gave us free drinks. We didn’t take the other room as it was smaller, but managed to muffle the sound of running water by putting a rolled up towel at base of bathroom door which solved the noise issue at night.
Need to call a plumber!

Friendly ,well located pub with rooms very near A66
Pros:

This is a really welcoming and friendly place. Bar and sitting areas were really cosy and comfortable Lovely location. Good walking around the village

Cons:

The room was rather cold and it wasn’t made clear that in order to have the room serviced, I would need to ask.
