Good service from check in to check out. clean and well maintained. slept well

Excellent overnight stay in the Mercury Danum, well furnished hotel, spotlessly clean, comfortable room and bed - we didn’t have breakfast - staff very efficient and polite
I will definitely stay here again

Lovely old hotel but noticeable in some areas.
Room could do with a touch up and a deep clean.

Very run down hotel, lovely old building in good location but needs money spent on it.

Staff and breakfast are good. Room is fine for a short stay. Walking distance from railway station.

Convenient city centre

It was great but Doncaster is a noisy town centre, so a rumble of bass was present.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and helpful staff the reception staff Rene and his ladies team were so helpful and understanding I am glad to book my Doncaster holiday in this hotel

the hotel is very clean with lovely spacious rooms, the breakfast is good but could do with cooking the bacon and sausages a little less, would be good to have a toilet brush in the bathroom overall very good stay

✅ Pros
Excellent location: Situated right in Doncaster town centre, very convenient for shops, transport, and local attractions.
Privilege room assignment: Thankfully given a quieter room not facing the High Street, which helped reduce noise.
Room amenities:
Reasonable space.
Small fridge was a lifesaver during the hot August weather.
⚠️ Cons
Noise issues:
Hotel is surrounded by clubs and bars on the High Street.
Even in a quieter room, low bass noise persisted late into the night.
Tip: Request a room away from the street when booking.
Wardrobe design flaw:
Hangers placed above the fridge area.
No ability to move hangers to a more spacious section.
No suitable space for hanging longer garments like suits or dresses.
Bed accessibility:
Bed is unusually high.
Difficult for older guests to climb in and out comfortably.
Lighting inconvenience:
Bedside lamps have no switches.
No master control to turn off all lights from the bed.
Requires getting up to switch off lights manually.
Housekeeping lapse:
Body soap dispenser was empty during shower.
Requested refill took over 20 minutes with no action until chased.
Very disappointing response time, especially when tired and needing rest.
Basic amenities like soap should be checked and stocked proactively.

The only person on duty at 20:00 was not able to do all the things that needed to be done (checking-in; waitressing etc.)

The staff are excellent and the buffet breakfast was great value for money. Ill be staying there two to three nights a week for a foreseeable future. Thank you Lucy and Team

I would prefer a few more tea bags and milks.

But apart from that everything was perfect.

Staff not very helpful

Nice and clean hotel but very hot in the rooms as no air con and we were in a room on the Main Street and it was so noisy I barely got any sleep so not ideal getting woken up every hour by outside noise but other than that nice hotel

Doing their best but the party atmosphere outside the hotel meant fellow guests arriving back at 3am stopped me from sleeping after that time
