Pros:

Beautiful hotel and gardens. Very comfortable and spacious room - worth the splurge to get a sea view. Great breakfast. It's about 20 minute walk down steep hill to get to town, so factor that in. Room was warm in late Sept, even with windows open, so wish room had a fan. A mini-fridge would have been a great addition.

We have stayed before ideal location for St Ives and it’s walkable but you do need to be fit coming back as up steep path. Lovely room and service.

A well maintained hotel. Great staff and dining options. Some rooms have amazing views overlooking the harbour of St Ives. The hotel is within walking distance of the town, as long as you don't mind the walk up the hill.

Beautiful views, clean rooms, friendly staff. Gym could do with updating. Also maybe having a sauna, steam facilities. Breakfast was good. Nice bar area too. The tennis courts were a great shout with the kids.

Pros:

Setting and hotel was nice and had character and charm and staff were friendly.
However, the rooms were not sound proof by any means and you could hear the people above using the toilet and ever footstep of others on the creaky floorboards and even conversations of other guests in rooms above or below.
The gym was terrible, a tiny room which no more than two people could ideally be in at one time and very limited equipment or space to do a good workout. Very disappointing. It also needed a good clean.
The gardens and woodland surrounding the property were beautiful and the view was spectacular.
The food was nice but expensive.

Hotel buildings are superb. Lots of character and available facilities. Room was clean albeit a little tired. Food at the hotel was only a one or two star. Breakfast was really quite poor. Room for improvement in this area.

My friend and I rented four rooms in total. The scenery here is beautiful and the rooms are clean. However, there is a double room with a leaking toilet, which disturbed our sleep at night. Everything is fine.

Pros:

Overall really good. The breakfasts were great, the lunch and evening menus did not have much choice but what we had was super. Our room was as expected but so hot, found a portable fan in the wardrobe and had to keep it on day and night. Swimming pools were lovely.
I would come again.

Disappointing.
Pros:

The pool & changing room were grubby & uninviting.
On one occasion our room was not serviced,despite being requested before our stay.
There is no fridge or phone in the room.
Overcooked chicken in the restaurant-inedible but no reduction made on the bill.
Most of the staff were delightful.

A few thoughts about my stay….
Pros:

Nice unit but the maps to the accommodation could be clearer as we wandered around awhile trying to find our unit. I also think you should have concrete paths not pebbles at it is very hard to drag suitcases through pebbles. The dinner/breakfast at castle was lovely. Olives bar was great.
