Pleasant country stay and conveniently located in the village

Bakery the staff were polite & helpful, the food selection was fabulous and tasty
Pub check for Bistro opening times was closed

• Ease of walking around the village
• Pleasant place to relax & enjoy a snack, coffee cheese whilst enjoying the animals and country views

• Front entry was filthy dirty covered in dirt, water, garden leaf litter
• Bathroom shower floor had dirty foots prints
• Bathroom shower recess had dirty foot prints
• Bathroom Shower Screen was filthy with soap scum
• Bedroom windows looked directly into a neighbours back yard and vice versa
• The curtains were nice but not blockout expect early start when the sun comes up
• TV was too small which made changing channels and viewing a challenge when in bed
• Cold lino floor - a lovely large rug would be nice on the feet especially after a shower or getting out of bed

Pleased we stayed. A different experience. But a bit more attention to detail with the room would have improved things.
Pros:

Quirky, in the best sense. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Cons:

Room was basically clean but spider webs around the heater had been there a long time. The smoke detector was missing (just the shell remaining). A second chair would have been helpful (there was plenty of space for one).

Waking up to the cows and farm animal vista was beautiful.

Cons:

The toilet, bar fridge in the room and EV charger were not working. The EV charger was a big reason for booking this accommodation and there was no mention that it was not working on Booking .com The staff informed me that they have informed Booking .com of this and to remove this from their site. The staff did give us a free breakfast as compensation for these issues which was kind of them.,

Dave Dobbin had a hit song about a " Slice of Heaven " this place was pretty special for me
Pros:

I grew up on dairy farms in NZ over 40 years ago and staying here for 5 nights has been the closest I've come to renewing the joy and wonder of being out in the country. After 6pm when the crowd had departed and I was left with the cockatoos, kangaroos and all the other oos and aas, well that was the magic time for me.
Also Cody and his team were always wonderful to mingle with and they were flat out from opening to the close, a big thank you to them all

Cons:

For me I couldn't have asked for anything else, for company I ventured across the road for a meal and drink with the locals at the Bodalla pub and it certainly lived up to it's reputation of the best pub in Bodalla
