The staff were excellent and AJ went out of his way to make sure everything was ok for our stay.
The hotel is in the middle of the city which was very convenient- we walked to a different restaurant every night.

Comfortable and clean with easy parking.
Really cosy and comfortable room and the house keeping was top notch. The location is great for access to everything you could need, and having access to the gym round the corner was great.
The bathroom was a little small, however it was still a good size in relation to the room.

The guest lounge is a great area to work in. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the owners and staff are extremely helpful. A short walk from restaurants, bars and other attractions.
Warm welcome from AJ, showed us our room. Nice big size, comfy bed. Cupboard with safe. Tea, coffee facilities. Little mini bar fridge. In the corridor there was a water cooler.
Great shower. The only tiny issue was that there was only one hook for a towel and no towel rail. Another hook would have been perfect. Liked the complimentary body wash, shampoo etc, smelt lovely.
Laundry facilities were available. There was a guest lounge also to use. Car parking a very short distance away.
Loved the position of the hotel, easy to walk to bars and restaurants. Also close to cycle hire, called cycle inn. Great for going along the sea front.

We had a fantastic stay at The State Hotel! The staff were very welcoming, in particular AJ who also gave us some great local tips for site seeing in New Plymouth, which made the visit all the more great

Position was fabulous, rooms were beautifully appointed, AJ & Team were absolutely amazing, helping with everything from luggage to wonderful eatery advice, nothing was too much trouble.
