Great place to stay in a quiet area of town.
Pros:

Second time we have stayed at the Colonial and we were very happy with it. Lovely helpful person at reception. Room was spacious and very comfortable. It is a 25 minute walk to the main centre of the town.

Pros:

It was an end terrace unit set across the road from motel. So a big bonus on available space. It even had a garden area.

A solid, basic 2-bedroom motel unit with good kitchen facilities (except for the fridge).
Pros:

Our unit in the Colonial Motel was fine in most ways, few complaints. The unit is a bit “tired”, but not horribly so. Parts of the unit had been recently renovated (e.g., the flooring), while other parts looked like they were stuck in the 1930s. Not decrepit at all, just 1930s-looking. Overall we were perfectly happy with our stay there.

Cons:

There was one major shortcoming, and a couple of minor ones. The major one was the refrigerator. It is a half-fridge, quite new (good), but sitting on the floor and with the freezer above and fridge part below. You have to get down on your hands and knees to access the fridge area, which is the part that is most used. Extremely frustrating. At the very least the whole thing should be placed up on a base to raise it up 3 or 4 feet. Better, replace it with a small-profile full-height fridge, which would fit the space perfectly. The other thing we both noticed is that the shower floor is quite slippery. With no grab handles, it could be rather dangerous. We later discovered that there is a rubber mat for the shower floor to reduce the slipping, but it’s tucked away under the sink and we never thought to look for it (until too late). It would be better to have the rubber mat out beside the shower, or perhaps a note on the shower that there is a mat available. A third, minor detail was that there were no salt and pepper shakers. The host provided a couple of paper packets of salt and pepper, like you’d get in a greasy spoon restaurant. Surely you can do better. The final thing concerns the oven. It took us 15 minutes pushing various poorly-labelled buttons to get it to work. A one-paragraph note in the guest manual would solve it, but there was nothing in the manual about it.

Pros:

Grosses Zimmer mit Küche, alles Nötige da. Heizung gut, sogar die Betten konnten mit Heizmatten beheizt werden. Im Bad hatte es ebenfalls ein Heizkörper.
Auto konnte vor dem Eingang parkiert werden.

Viel Platz, Küche sehr gut ausgestattet.
Ruhige Lage, Restaurants und Supermarkt fussläufig erreichbar, Personal sehr freundlich

Cons:

Die Einrichtung ist schon ein bisschen sehr in die Jahre gekommen, kein Feuermelder, offener Sicherungskasten über dem Bett im Schlafzimmer 😏
