The apartment had excellent facilities. The rooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and having two bathrooms was fantastic. Everything was clean and neat. We loved having a washing machine. The proximity to the ocean is great and it is a nice (not short but not long) walk into the downtown.
The heated pool and hot tub were quite cold and the change rooms for that area were absolutely freezing. I went once during our stay and didn't go back. That's a real shame because the heated indoor pool was a huge draw card for us in booking. The room was super hard to find and staff were not helpful. If it's obvious your instructions are making no sense to the guest, get up and come show us where we go. Lifts were slow. We did not realise the apartment was not in the main building. This was an unpleasant surprise as it was a family trip and meant the other half of my family was in a completely different section of the premises.
Great location
Large units, great location.
Just a bad experience. Booked for ocean view room and was only provided a low level obstructed view. We could move apartments but were told we had to pay more. The spa and pool were cold which was disappointing as I had booked this place due to it being advertised with a heated pool and spa. So didn’t use this the whole stay. Then the apartment couldn’t run heating as apparently it shares a system with the room next door. We were offered a little Kmart blower heater. Then we were offered another apartment with its own heating, and we had to move apartments after being all set up in the original apartment. For a 4 star place this is well below what I would expect to pay for. False advertising and lack of warmth in winter really put a stain on our stay.

For the views as it was our 1st time visiting the area
When we arrived we were told we’d have to carry our luggage up a number of steps. We’re both elderly with disability issues. Apparently the lift was out and we were not informed of this. We asked for an up grade but was told we had to pay an extra $60 to have a room which we could access by the lift. The 2 bedroom apartment only had one bathroom and the garden room we booked had 2. It was a large unit with out heating in the bedrooms. It was very cold and had no extra blankets. We’ve stayed in Mantra before in Sydney and Canberra and both hotels were amazing. We aid $440 for a 2 bedroom unit that was old, uncomfortable, terrible mattress with no sleep, l will not recommend staying there to anyone else
The location right across the road from the beach is amazing. We felt so good about it when we stepped out on to the "balcony" area that we decided to stay an additional night. Loved our time here.
