Pros:

The location was great, Cafes and restaurants (including the POW) within easy walking. The Red Tourist Bus stops in the street nearby for easy sightseeing.

Pros:

It's located super close to Salamanca markets. The building is renovated with neat, and clean services. It offers parking while you stay there.

Cons:

There is no breakfast option. However, in front of the place there are plenty of cafes and bakeries.

Perfect intro to Hobart
Pros:

The rooms have been beautifully renovated. Huge comfy bed and lovely clean modern bathrooms.
I was met warmly on arrival and check-in is easy.. my room had a view towards Mt Wellington and surrounded by all the lovely old original cottages of the area. Despite being above a pub, it was very quiet in the room and I never had any trouble with noise. Plenty of tea and coffee options in your room with a kettle and a coffee pod machine. Small fridge and two small complimentary travel sized milk cartons. All of it refreshed everyday when the room is cleaned.

The Kelly street steps are at the bottom of the street which will take you right into Salamanca Square and the water front. It's a bit of a steep walk back but nothing that can't be done just taking your time and soaking up the surroundings of Battery Point.

Across the road in a little blue house is a coffee shop that made the best coffee I've ever had where I would start my day.

I will definitely stay at the Prince of Wales again and recommend this hotel highly. There is also ample parking for guests that have cars.

Cons:

There is no breakfast option but this did not bother me at all as I prefer to start my day in a cosy cafe with an excellent coffee. There are so many coffee shops and bakerys a stone's throw from the hotel so plenty of choice for breakfast.
A lot of tourists do like a breakfast option though so this is the only thing I could see people finding fault.

It was meeting all my expectations: comfortable, clean, with a lovely view and friendly staff.

Totally recommend (and will to friends travelling later in the year).
Pros:

Location. Staff very friendly, especially Owen despite being woken by us at 6:30am on morning when we couldn't get out of the carpark! Refurbished rooms (albeit bathroom quite small). Easy walk down to Salamanca and into the CBD. Fabulous restaurants a stones throw away; Italian, Greek, Vietnamese/Thai, as well as great coffee and pastry shops. All were hosted by really friendly staff. Loved the hotel being surrounded by beautiful heritage buildings. No noise experienced during out stay from downstairs bar.

Nothing.

Best value, great location in historic area; clean and modern design.
Pros:

Amazing value at a terrific location in Hobart. Rooms are ultra modern and nicely designed, clean and comfortable. Free parking was an important benefit of staying here.

Pros:

Don’t judge a book by its cover - this place was incredible! Really luxe & boutique & absolutely stunning value for money! Beautiful bed linen & towels, gorgeous l’Occitane toiletries & a Nespresso machine in the room. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or friendlier - 12/10. Also the Monday night $20 special porterhouse steak dinner was amazing value for money. Can’t recommend this place highly enough - exceptional!

Cons:

There is no lift, so be prepared to carry your bags upstairs. But it’s absolutely worth it!
