I would not give it a rating or stay. As I wanted to book two rooms for 2 people with disabilities and noticed the stairs, I rang the property. I was told they had rooms where there would only be a couple of stairs, so I booked the rooms.on arriving at the property, I saw how many stairs there were into each room, they had also booked us into two rooms in the main house with over twenty stairs. I rang the owners, who had already taken the money out of my credit card and refused to give even a partial refund. The male owner then abused me over the phone, I was so upset that I hung up.
The property had walls so thin i could hear all the guests conversations on the top level. I phoned the hotel before making booking and explained i have a walking disability but was told there will be only 4 stairs into hotel room. That is a lie, there is 6 stairs to reception level and then 20 to the level we needed to be on. The room was dirty. Bed uncomfortable and only 1 pillow that was flat. I had to use my jumper as a pillow cause nothing else.provided.
Very old. Not very big. Stairs only.
Our room was not cleaned from the last people who stayed. Bedding didnt smell clean and it had stains on the Bedding. The bin wasn't empty from previous people as there was used ladies personal hygiene in it. Under bed had food and someone undies left there. Would not recommend this place
Old world charm
The smell from the bathroom wasn't great.
The toilet seat was old and dirty around the fixtures..
Overpriced for what you got..
Limited kitchen facilities and nowhere to sit inside..
.not worth the money
Bed was ok
Very dated, small rooms, narrow staircase. Did not meet our expectations.
The room was very small, just able to accommodate the queen bed. The bathroom was tiny, like an elongated telephone booth. The fan in the bathroom Tastic didn't work. The sliding door to the bathroom covered the GPO when in the open position. The fridge (also tiny) freezer compartment was iced up and unusable. The stair access to our room (12) exceeded 15 steps in a single flight and I doubt would comply with BCA. There was no sound insulation between the rooms. At $147/night the room was ridiculously overpriced. I expect that Amos House will be the most disappointing accommodation of our 2 week road tour around Tasmania.
unfortunately for such a great location the facilities were not clean
The room was very small,no air conditioning, the bathroom fan was filthy
Ok ordinary, no food, not generous with tea and coffee, good restaurant down the road.
Compact room and bathroom. Upstairs access.
Property is well located with easy access to the towns facilities and comfortable.
Good location centrally in Swansea. An older style hotel but you get what you expect and what you pay for so it was comfy and convenient for the night. We had a minor maintenance issue when we checked into our room and the owner was apologetic and helpful in moving us to another one.
Right in town
stay at your own risk...photos on wotif do not show how small & inadequate the facilities are
the motels & wotif need to advise if a room is upstairs before the purchaser confirms the booking
would I stay at Amos again...not even if you paid me, I would travel further & stay elsewhere
Bates motel comes to mind
It was a nice getaway but we stayed in room 9 and came in late and every step to our room on the main hose creeped it was impossible to sneak up the stair but overall good quiet place
Room seems very old and blankets , towels also look old. May be the Villas are better but the Room and the bathroom is very congested. Looks cheaper compared to what we paid for other accommodations but the price is same.
I got really frustrated trying to cancel before the deadline, because we were not able to get there. I ended up having to pay for it although we couldn't use it.
